By Patrick EversonLos Angeles opened -2 Thursday morning at William Hill US, stretched to -3 by this morning, then backed up to -2.5, where the point spread stands at 5:15 p.m. ET. Ticket count is practically dead even, but the Clippers are grabbing 86 percent of money. "This is going to be a big-bet game," WillHill director of trading Nick Bogdanovich said. "There are all sorts of variables going on here. (Luka Doncic is) one of the biggest stars in the NBA now, the Clippers are a very polarizing team, it’s an elimination game, and it’s the only game in town tonight. It’s been a great matchup and a competitive series, (so) you’re going to get a ton of business anyway. But it’s the only game on a Friday night, so it’s going to be bet unmercifully." The total is pinned to 216.5, although the Over is attracting 79 percent of bets/87 percent of money.

Against the spread (ATS) pick
We’re up to Game 6 in this series between the Clippers and Mavericks and we haven’t yet seen either of these teams win a game at home. Let that sink in. Now, Los Angeles will look to keep that road streak alive by winning at the American Airlines Center to send this thing to a Game 7. The only issue is that the Clippers are just completely lost when it comes to guarding Luka Doncic.
Through five games in this series, Doncic is averaging 35.0 points, 9.4 assists and 8.0 rebounds per game. He’s shooting 47.6 percent from the field and 40.4 percent from three, and his numbers would be even better if he wasn’t hitting only 41.2 percent of his free throws. In Game 5, Doncic was absolutely brilliant, turning in 42 points and 14 assists. It doesn’t matter who is guarding him at this point, the Clippers can’t stop him from getting to the basket or his step-back triple. And when Los Angeles does take away the driving lane, Doncic finds his open shooters and hits them right in their pockets. Look for the role players to step up and knock down those shots in this close-out game at home.
The Mavericks are a great value on the money line in this one. Dallas is just clearly on the same level as this Los Angeles team, and one of these teams is going to take advantage of its home floor at some point. Why not now, with this game's odds giving us points?
Also, keep an eye on Kristaps Porzingis here. The big man had just eight points on six attempts in Game 5, but he should be more involved this time around. Porzingis had 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting in a Game 2 win at Staples Center in this series, so he’s clearly capable of performing at a much higher level.
PREDICTION: Mavericks +3.0 (-110)
Over/Under pick
Two of the first three games in this series went Over the total, but we’ve seen two consecutive Unders since. However, these teams both shot under 42.0 percent from the floor in Game 5, and the Mavericks only scored 81 points at home in Game 4. Both of those things are unlikely to happen again, especially with some of the offensive talent on the floor in this series.
We’ve seen moments in this series in which neither team is capable of finding any answers on the defensive end, and you should expect that both of these groups will come out firing in this one. Also, this total is fairly low, so the two don’t even have to fill it up in order to help the Over hit.
PREDICTION: Over 216.0 (-110)
Player prop pick
As mentioned earlier, Porzingis was a complete non-factor in Game 5 and the Mavericks are going to try to find a way to get him a bit more involved here. The big man has actually shot the ball really well from the outside since going 1 for 5 in Game 1, as he has responded by going 6 for 14 from deep over the last four contests.
Porzingis should be able to take advantage of his pick-and-pop opportunities at home, and he’s also a good bet to score a couple on putbacks as well.
