DraftKings NBA Pick6 fantasy basketball lineup for January 27
Nikola Jokic 26.5 points: LESS
This isn’t exactly an entry that many people would typically pinpoint because Nikola Jokic is truly that good. After all, he is averaging 29.9 points this season. However, The Joker has scored less than 26.5 points in five of his last seven appearances.
Yes, the big man is still registering triple-doubles and getting involved in other ways, but the Serbian isn’t consistently scoring as of late, doing more damage as a facilitator and as a rebounder.
LeBron James 23.5 points: MORE
40 years old, no problem. LeBron James is still playing at an extremely high level for his age, scoring 23.7 points per game in 40 games. That is truly unheard of for a guy who has been in the league for more than 20 seasons.
The King has finished with more than 23.5 points in three of his last five outings, scoring 25 on Saturday in a win over the Warriors. He’s averaging 24.3 points in January and also averages 25.7 points per night against Eastern Conference teams, and the Los Angeles Lakers face the lowly Charlotte Hornets tonight.
Josh Giddey 6.5 assists: LESS
Josh Giddey has been a nice addition to the Chicago Bulls. He’s a versatile player and is arguably their best playmaker, averaging 6.6 assists in 2024-25. However, the Aussie has dished out less than 6.5 dimes in four of his last six appearances.
He’s averaging 5.8 assists in January and 6.4 against West teams. Chicago faces the Denver Nuggets tonight, against whom he averaged just four assists last season in four meetings. I think you’ll see a quiet night from Giddey as a facilitator.
Jalen Duren 10.5 rebounds: MORE
This has been an entry I’ve focused on many times before because of how consistent Jalen Duren has been on the glass. He’s a physical presence down low and has averaged 9.7 rebounds this season. That number has shot up to 11 per game in January, his best month of the campaign.
The Detroit Pistons big has brought down more than 10.5 boards in three of his last five games, even hitting 14 rebounds exactly a week ago against the Rockets. While Duren only had single-digit rebounds the last time he faced the Cleveland Cavaliers, that isn’t deterring me from locking this one in again.
Kristaps Porzingis 18.5 points: MORE
Kristaps Porzingis is having a productive season for the defending champions since returning from injury, averaging 18.9 points in 21 games. The big man has registered more than 18.5 in three of his last six and also finished with 18 points in two of those games — just a tad below his total tonight at home vs Houston.
The Latvian also averaged over 24 PPG in four appearances against the Rockets last season and is scoring 19.2 points at the TD Garden.
De'Aaron Fox 5.5 assists: MORE
De'Aaron Fox isn’t just the Sacramento Kings’ best scorer, he’s also one of their best playmakers. The guard is averaging 6.2 assists this season and has dished out more than 5.5 dimes in four of his last six outings. Fox is averaging 5.9 assists in January and had five the last time Sacramento faced the Brooklyn Nets.
However, last season he averaged exactly 5.5 dimes against the Nets and Brooklyn is toward the bottom of the league in most assists allowed. Fox is thriving as a playmaker at the moment and that’ll continue tonight.
