Heat vs Bulls Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s NBA Game

While Jimmy Butler's drama lingers, the show must go on, and Andrew Caley believes one Miami player you can trust for production is Bam Adebayo.

The NBA world is waiting to see where Jimmy Butler gets traded. For now though, the Miami Heat must focus on tonight’s matchup against the Chicago Bulls.

The Bulls on the other hand have already traded away All-Star Zach LaVine and rumor has it they might not be done ahead of Thursday’s deadline.

My Heat vs. Bulls predictions highlight a player prop I love plus more NBA picks for this game set to tip off at 8:00 pm ET at the United Center in Chicago, on Tuesday, Feb. 4.

Heat vs Bulls prediction

My best bet
Bam Adebayo Over 19.5 Points (-115 at bet365)

My analysis
It feels like the Miami Heat are just treading water until Jimmy Butler gets traded. The Heat enter this game with a 24-23 record and have managed to win three of their last four games, but are just 4-6 in their last 10 overall and are struggling to generate offense.

But the one guy the Heat have always been able to count on has done his best recently to keep this team afloat. That is, of course, Bam Adebayo.

Adebayo enters this game averaging 16.2 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game this season. But he has upped his scoring production with Butler barely being with the team since the end of December, particularly over the last three games.

Adebayo has put up at least 21 points in three straight games, averaging 25.7 points while shooting 61.2% from the floor during that period and he gets another good matchup tonight in Chicago.

Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls are spiraling, having lost nine of their last 12 games to sit at 21-29 and have shipped off another star player. This time it was Zach LaVine.

LaVine certainly didn’t help the Bulls defensively as they enter this game ranked 24th in defensive rating. But for all his faults, he wasn’t the reason they ranked dead last in opponent points in the paint. Adebayo also put up 24 and 23 points in the two games he played against the Bulls last season.

Give me Adebayo to hit the 20-point plateau for the fourth straight game.

Heat vs Bulls same-game parlay

Bam Adebayo Over 19.5 points

Ayo Dosunmu Over 13.5 points

Lonzo Ball Over 3.5 assists

LaVine isn’t a perfect player but he was averaging 24 points per game while shooting 51.1% from the floor, so the Bulls are going to have to make up his production somewhere. For that, I’m looking at Ayo Dosunmu.

Dosunmu is starting to find his groove again after missing 10 games in late December and early January. He is averaging 11.7 points while shooting 43.8% from 3-point range over his last six games. His point total is 13.5 for this one. He’s topped that twice in his last four games.

And let’s round this same-game parlay out with Lonzo Ball to go Over 3.5 assists. Ball is another guy who could see more minutes with LaVine gone. He is averaging 3.5 assists per game this season and has topped this number in two of his last three games. While Miami ranks 22nd in opponent assists per game.

Heat vs Bulls spread and Over/Under analysis

  • The Bulls opened this Eastern Conference matchup as 3.5-point home underdogs and that's where the line remains as of Tuesday afternoon.
  • It's been hard to trust either team ATS recently. The Heat are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games overall while the Bulls are 3-8 ATS in their last 11.
  • The total also hasn't seen much action as it still sits at the opening number of 228.5.
  • The Bulls are cashing a lot of Unders lately thanks to some elevated totals. But with LaVine now gone this is only the second time Chicago has seen a total lower than 230 since Nov. 29.

He began at Covers as a news editor and has now done everything under the sun when it comes to content. His work has been seen on TSN, Sportsnet, VSiN, and CBS.

These days Andrew’s betting expertise is focused on his favorite teams – the Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Raptors. He’s also an avid college football fan and bettor. He can’t be friends with you if you don’t appreciate a Service Academy Under. You can also call him Covers’ Sixth Man, as he regularly steps up to guest host Before You Bet and our MLB and NCAAF release shows.

The sportsbook where he does the bulk of his betting is bet365 thanks to its numerous prop betting options and competitive odds. His best advice? Find the balance between the numbers and what you see on the playing field. Then find the best price using multiple books. And don’t ask him where the nickname Taco comes from. It’s not an interesting story. Seriously.
