Pacers vs Warriors picks and predictions

Our predictions are compiled from the analysis of the spread and total and are indications of where we are leaning for this game.
Our best bet is the play that we like the most for this game, which we would actually put some of our bankroll behind.

The Warriors were huge favorites against the Pistons the other night and they still found a way to cover with ease. This meeting with the Pacers shouldn’t be all that different, especially with Indiana coming off a win over the Los Angeles Lakers last night. Playing the second night of a road back-to-back is never easy, but it’s even worse when you’re going against Curry and the Warriors.

Even with Draymond Green out, this Golden State team is extremely explosive on offense, and a few of those classic Warriors flurries from 3-point range would put the Pacers away in this game. Indiana just isn’t good enough on either end of the floor to withstand those types of quick runs, and it doesn’t help that the Pacers are banged up right now. Myles Turner is a player that they’ll really miss in this game, as his rim protection could have at least prevented Golden State from getting easy buckets at the basket.

Another thing working against the Pacers is that the entire team is seemingly on the trading block entering the trade deadline. That is extremely difficult to navigate when it’s just one or two players, but Indiana genuinely seems to be open to dealing pretty much anyone.

Lastly, it should be noted that the Warriors are 8-1 against the spread in non-conference home games this year. They’re also facing a Pacers team that is 7-19 against the spread when coming off back-to-back road games since the start of last season.

Prediction: Warriors -11.5 (-110)

The Under is 24-9 in games in which Golden State has played as a favorite this season, and it’s 15-6 when the Warriors are playing at home. Meanwhile, the Under is also 11-3 when the Pacers are road underdogs on the year. With both teams having significant trends that suggest that this one will go Under, it’s hard to ignore that noise.

Golden State might be missing Draymond right now, but the Warriors still have the best defensive rating in basketball. They also are facing a Pacers team that is just 15th in offensive rating, so it’s not the type of opponent to cause them to unravel there. Indiana is also just 23rd in pace of play, meaning the team takes its time to get into its offense. That should make Under bettors very happy here.

Prediction: Under 218.0 (-113)

Klay Thompson is still working to find his rhythm right now and it’s going to take him a decent amount of time to do so. This, however, is a pretty good game for him to get it going a bit. The Pacers are just 22nd in the league in defensive rating this season, and it’s hard to imagine them finding a way to contain Curry without having to send a little help in his direction. That would mean that the rest of the Warriors will get some good looks.

Klay really doesn’t need to play all that well in order to reach this point total tonight. As long as he makes a couple of threes, it’ll be well within striking distance. He had 21 points in 22 minutes last game, so we know he’s more than capable of doing this.

Pick: Klay Thompson Over 15.5 points (-120)
