Today’s best NBA player props
Count on Cade
People are talking about how embarrassing last night’s loss to the Detroit Pistons was for the Philadelphia 76ers. That just means you haven’t been paying attention to the Pistons lately.
Which is fair, given their history. But they have played very well since the middle of February. While the record is just 9-11 straight up, they have been an incredible bet going 17-3 ATS over that stretch and rank 17th in net rating over that span.
A big part of that has been the play of former No. 1 overall pick Cade Cunningham. The rookie has been outstanding since coming out of the All-Star break, averaging 22.4 points, shooting 47.2% from the floor while adding 6.4 assists, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game.
He’s been even better over the last 11 games, upping his points and assists to 23.5 and 7.7 respectively.
Even though Cunningham and his teammates are playing the second half of a back-to-back, they are taking on an Oklahoma City Thunder team that is missing all its best players and will only have eight players available for this game.
Those injuries have hurt what was a solid Thunder defense, but now only ranks 27th since the start of March.
Look for Cunningham and the Pistons to continue their strong play against a Thunder team that might belong in the G-League, as the budding guard goes Over his points + assists total of 30.5 – a number he has eclipsed eight times in his last 11 games.
Pick: Cade Cunningham Over 30.5 points + assists (-115 at DraftKings)

- Suns vs. Grizzlies picks April 1

Davion keeps delivering
We love Sacramento Kings guard Davion Mitchell tonight. The rookie out of Baylor is getting more of a run with De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis likely on the shelf for the remainder of the season.
While this is a clear sign that Sacramento is conceding the rest of its season, don’t tell that to Mitchell, who is taking advantage of his added opportunity and will be happy to wear the crown for the Kings when they visit the Houston Rockets.
Mitchell has logged nearly 42 minutes per game over the last five matches, averaging 24 points, shooting 48.5% from the floor.
And he hasn’t been shy about taking shots, putting up 20.2 a contest over that stretch. He has also gotten his teammates involved, dishing out 8.4 per game over his last five starts.
That includes him going for 24 points and eight assists in his last game, which was of course against this same Rockets team.
Houston is another team that has called it quits on the year, shutting down two of its best players Christian Wood and Eric Gordon for the season. That’s not great news for a squad that ranks dead last in the NBA in net rating. The Rockets are also coming off a month where they ranked 24th in both points and assists allowed to opposing guards.
So, not shockingly we’re looking at Mitchell’s points + assists total. This number has bumped up even since the last game, but even at 30.5, he has gone Over it in four of those five games, including last time out against the Rockets.
Pick: Davion Mitchell Over 30.5 points + assists (+110 at Caesars Sportsbook)
Dejounte rips up the Blazers
It has been a pretty profitable week for our NBA player prop bets. But one of our misses came on backing San Antonio Spurs guard Dejounte Murray to record a triple-double against the Houston Rockets back on March 28th.
Murray came frustratingly close in that game to cashing that bet, going for 33 points, 11 assists, and seven rebounds. With the way the Spurs guard has been playing combined with tonight’s matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers, I can’t help myself from betting it once again.
The All-Star guard is averaging 21.2, 9.3 assists, and 8.4 rebounds for the season while recording 13 triple-doubles, and now gets a tantalizing matchup against a weak Blazers lineup.
Portland has clearly called it quits on the season after a month that saw it go 2-13 during which the Blazers ranked dead last in defensive rating, and they were getting absolutely cooked by opposing guards.
They ranked dead last in the NBA when it came to points allowed and assists allowed to opposing guards in the month of March while surrendering the second-most rebounds to them as well.
The worry here obviously is that the Spurs get up big and can pull their starters down the stretch. That said, they are in a fight for that final pay-in spot in the Western Conference so they can’t afford to let a game slip away.
Let’s back Murray one more time to get that triple-double.
Pick: Dejounte Murray triple-double – YES (+310 at DraftKings)
