It's NBA Rivals week, and one of my favorite rivalries in the NBA — Golden State Warriors vs. Sacramento Kings — will be one of the featured games tonight, and I've found a player prop for this matchup using the latest NBA odds.
After an emotional night on Wednesday for the Golden State Warriors as they returned to the court following a slight absence due to the tragic and unexpected death of their assistant coach Dejan Milojevic, the Warriors will have a quick turnaround on Thursday against their rival, the Sacramento Kings.
It'll be a 10:00 p.m. ET tip between the Warriors and Kings, which is pretty late, but it never disappoints when these two teams get together. If the rivalry isn't enough to keep you awake, how about a Domantas Sabonis prop?
Let's take a closer look at the latest NBA player props and find out who else I'm betting on in my free NBA picks for January 25th.

NBA player props for January 25
Prop bet #1: Coby!
I've been closely following the Phoenix Suns because of my interest in their NBA Championship odds. Although I watched Monday's Suns-Bulls game with a primary focus on Phoenix, Coby White managed to grab my attention. The Suns couldn't contain him, and White shot a very efficient 10-for-14 from the field.
While White stood out, something else also grabbed my eye — the Los Angeles Lakers were on tap for White and the Chicago Bulls on Thursday. With White's speed and agility, even some of the best defenders in the NBA struggle to contain him. How on Earth is the backcourt of D'Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves going to contain White off the bounce?
White should be able to create offense and generate separation at will against the Lakers' backcourt, and there won't be much the Lakers can do from a help defense perspective. It will be a quick move from White; he will separate from Russell or Reaves and then be able to get his jump shot off.
The total of 21.5 points seems high, but his game and role are also evolving quickly. White is projected to score 23.8 points, allowing us to price the Over 21.5 points at -153, and it is currently available at BetMGM for -115.
Coby White prop: Over 21.5 points (-115 at BetMGM)
Prop bet #2: Porter makes ya sweat
The last time I bet on a Michael Porter Jr. threes prop with the idea that he should see a ton of attempts was in the NBA Finals. I was only right about one thing — the attempts — but I didn't win a unit because Porter didn't make any of them. Let's hope for different fortunes this time as we back one of the most frustrating Over bets in the NBA.
I have another bet on Jamal Murray to go Under his points prop of 24, which is directly related to this bet on Porter to make at least three 3-pointers.
The New York Knicks are already without Mitchell Robinson, and Isaiah Hartenstein is questionable to play on Thursday, having missed the Knicks game on Tuesday with an Achilles injury. Not the best matchup for the Knicks when potentially down their two centers who are excellent defenders and have to take on Nikola Jokic.
Jokic requires help defense even when matched up against elite defenders. With Jericho Sims potentially getting the start, the Knicks will have to focus even more on helping him. If the help is consistently coming at Jokic, and OG Anunoby is disrupting Murray's ability to score, we should see Porter get some wide-open looks from beyond the arc.
Porter is projected to make exactly three 3-pointers, allowing us to price the 3-plus threes made at FanDuel at -127, but it is trading at +115. I think there's also an edge on Porter's points prop, but there was a bigger probability gap in this prop for Porter at FanDuel.
Michael Porter Jr. prop: 3+ made threes (+115 at FanDuel)
Prop bet #3: Putting pressure on Sabonis
Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis has been on a slight heater of late with assists, dropping 36 dimes in a three-game stretch from January 14 to January 18, which helped raise his total from 7.5 to 8.5. Sabonis is more than capable of being an assists hub, but increased juice on the Over 8.5 and a matchup with the Golden State Warriors has me taking the Under.
In his last outing against the Warriors, Sabonis had 10 assists, making the total of 8.5 not look very appealing. However, this was more of a one-off than the norm. In the game before that, Sabonis only had eight assists against the Warriors, and De'Aaron Fox even missed that game. In the seven-game playoff series last year, Sabonis never surpassed the total of 8.5 assists. In a playoff series, someone as talented as Sabonis sees elevated minutes in those games.
I went back and watched the film to see how Sabonis accumulated those 10 assists in their previous matchup. Kevon Looney was playing way off him, daring him to shoot the mid-range jump shot. That's fine, and it's a shot you want Sabonis to take, but it was like a quarterback having 10 seconds in the pocket to complete a pass because there was no pressure in his face.
The Warriors also lost that game. If I'm the Warriors, I go back and correct this for Thursday's matchup and make sure there is more pressure on Sabonis, turning him more into a scorer because he is a bigger threat as a facilitator. Yes, him taking a mid-range jump shot is what you want, but it also can't come at the expense of him becoming a hub at the elbow.
Sabonis is projected to have 7.9 assists against the Warriors, allowing us to price the Under 8.5 assists at -153, but it is available at BetRivers at +105.
