It can be tough to bet on NBA player props in the final two weeks of the regular season. However, with some teams essentially shutting down starters and going into tank mode, there are handicapping edges with players getting increased opportunities.

That's why 76ers rookie Justin Edwards headlines my favorite NBA picks for today. See why I'm also backing Spencer Dinwiddie and fading Keon Ellis with my three favorite plays for Saturday, March 29.

NBA player props for March 29

Justin Edwards Over 15.5 points (-110 at bet365)

It's almost laughable to look at this Philadelphia 76ers injury report, with virtually their entire eight-man rotation sidelined. That has allowed fringe players to get more burn and see what they can do. One of those players is Justin Edwards, who has thrived in a bigger offensive role.

Edwards has scored at least 18 points in six straight games and is coming off a 19-point performance against Washington. The wing is averaging 20.3 points on 15.6 field goal attempts per game over that span and is shooting lights out from deep.

The rookie wing wasn't selected in the 2024 draft, but don't forget that he was considered one of the top prospects in the country coming out of high school just two years ago.

This is a highly talented player who should be able to score against a Miami Heat team that's thin on the wing, with Andrew Wiggins and Duncan Robinson ruled out.

Keon Ellis Under 9.5 points (-130 at bet365)

Malik Monk returned to the Sacramento Kings lineup on Thursday after missing the previous three games due to illness. The guard was limited to 17 minutes off the bench but scored 16 points with a pair of assists.

Expect more minutes for Monk in his second game back, which means less playing time for Keon Ellis. He had double-digit points in all three games where Monk was sidelined.

However, he scored more than 9.5 points twice in his previous seven games. And one of the games where he went Over that number during that span came when Zach LaVine sat out for personal reasons. The Kings will be near full strength tonight, which means fewer shots for Ellis.

This is an easy decision with Sacramento on the road against the Orlando Magic, who allow a league-low 106.0 points per game.

Spencer Dinwiddie Over 6.5 assists (+120 at bet365)

Spencer Dinwiddie is coming off a poor performance against the Magic on Thursday when he had four assists and four turnovers in 25 minutes. Before that contest, Dinwiddie had dropped 7+ dimes in five straight games, averaging 9.0 assists per game over that span.

He goes from playing against an extremely slow-paced, defensive-oriented Magic squad to facing the Chicago Bulls, who play fast and struggle on defense. The Bulls are 24th in the league in defensive rating while ranking 28th in assists per game allowed (28.9).

Since Kyrie Irving suffered a season-ending injury on March 3, Dinwiddie has stepped into the starting lineup for the Dallas Mavericks and has seen his playing time surge. He's logged 35+ minutes in seven of his last nine games, and as long as he gets anywhere near that tonight, he should eclipse his assist total of 6.5.
