My best bet: Josh Hart to record a triple-double (+1200 at bet365)
My analysis
Backcourt injuries have piled up for the New York Knicks, and they'll be down their top three options at point guard. Jalen Brunson, Miles McBride, and Cam Payne are all sidelined again, and Delon Wright could be in for another start. Rookie Tyler Kolek has played well as a low-turnover, high-assist guy, but Thibs is gonna Thibs, and it doesn’t look like the rook will get the minutes he deserves. Enter, Josh Hart.
Hart trails only Jalen Brunson for team lead in assists this season, as he’s dishing a career-high 5.8 per game to go with 13.8 points and 9.7 boards. Hart is enjoying the most productive statistical season of his career, operating as a point forward and picking up the slack as the team’s floor general with Brunson sidelined.
Hart has averaged 14.4 points, 9.6 boards, and 5.5 dimes with Brunson in the lineup, and 10.8 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 7.3 assists across 12 games with Brunson sidelined. His scoring has taken a backseat in favor of rebounding and facilitating with Bunson out, and that’s exactly what I’m expecting tonight.
Hart has nine triple-doubles this season, which is the most by a Knicks player in a single season in franchise history. Six of those have come at home, and three have come with Brunson out. Hart posted an 11/11/9 line against the Blazers when he faced them on March 12, coming just one assist shy of another.
Hart has recorded two triple-doubles across his last seven games, and he’s reached that milestone in two of his previous four at home. I expect him to take advantage of Portland’s shorthanded backcourt (missing Scoot Henderson and potentially Anfernee Simons) and make the most of his opportunities while picking up the slack for his own team’s shorthanded backcourt.
This is a lottery ticket play with a better chance of cashing than these odds suggest.

Portland has been scrappy this season and, despite missing multiple key players, the team has continued to stay competitive and cover the spread. I’m staying away from the spread, as the Blazers are 41-32-1 ATS this season and could surprise the Knicks with a close game.
The long odds on Hart’s triple-double prop make up for the short odds on the Knicks moneyline leg. New York is 24-12 at home and 24-9 as the home favorite. The Blazers are 12-24 straight up on the road and 7-24 as the road dog.
This is a pretty low point total, and there’s no reason to bet the Under. Portland has hit the Over in three straight, and New York has gone Over in three of its last four. New York has cashed the Over in 21 of 36 at home this season. The Blazers are 36-37-1 to the Under and 30-30-3 as the underdog. Both teams are dealing with key injuries, but both have been able to score effectively.
