Georgia was supposed to be the big test for Alabama, and they were—for the first half. But after some halftime adjustments, the Crimson Tide shut out the Bulldogs in the second half and rolled to a 41-24 victory.

Next up for Bama and its powerhouse offense is a trip to the stumbling Tennessee Volunteers as hefty 21-point road favorites. The Vols are coming off a rough 34-7 loss at home to Kentucky as 6.5-point chalk.

Let’s take a look at our best college football predictions for Alabama at Tennessee, with kickoff scheduled for Saturday, October 24 at 3:30 ET in Knoxville.

Against the spread (ATS) pick

Can we just skip ahead to the Clemson-Alabama title game already? No? Well then, let’s just sit back and watch the beautiful machine that is the Crimson Tide offense.

Georgia owns one of the best defenses in the country, and Bama put up 41 points on them. What is Tennessee going to do to slow down Mac Jones & Co.?

Jones is doing his best to make people forget about Tua Tagovailoa. The senior QB is completing nearly 80 percent of his passes for 1,518 yards with 12 touchdowns and two interceptions, and he has, bar none, the best set of receivers to throw to in the country in DeVonta Smith, Jaylen Waddle and John Metchie III

Oh, he also has Najee Harris supporting him in the backfield. The lead Bama back rumbled through the Dawgs’ defense and is now averaging 6.0 yards per carry with 11 scores on the ground.

Meanwhile, Tennessee just got thumped 34-7 by Kentucky, who is good, but not great, and before that were beaten soundly by Georgia 44-21. The Vols’ offense, and QB Jarrett Guarantano in particular, struggled in those games against what was tougher competition.

If you can make a case for Tennessee to keep up in this one, I’m all ears. But for now, Roll Tide.

PREDICTION: Alabama -21 (-110)

Over/Under pick

While we expect Alabama to score with relative ease in this game, putting up points could be a little tougher for the Vols.

Tennessee has scored 28 points over the last two games, where it was evident Guarantano struggled with decision making, throwing three picks and averaging just 4.5 yards per attempt. Even against a Bama D that has some holes, that’s just not going to cut it.

Overall, Tennessee’s offense ranks 67th in total yards and averages just 23.8 points per game and the Vols just haven’t had success against Nick Saban over the years. Saban has never lost to Tennessee during his tenure at Bama, and the Vols have scored an average of 13 points per matchup over the last five years.

And while the Over is 6-2 in the last eight meetings between these SEC rivals, this is the highest number over that span. Last year was the first time in those eight games the total was above 60, and it fell Under the number. A scoreline of 45-14 is still way Under.

PREDICTION: Under 66 (-110)

First-half Total Pick

Alabama has traditionally been one of the better first-half bets in college football the past few years, usually because the Tide’s starters play the full first half before taking their foot off the gas in the second. But the last two weeks have been a little different. Alabama trailed Georgia 24-0 last week and was tied with Ole Miss at 21 the week before. What’s this tell me? They’re due for a big start.

Despite not covering the first-half spread either of the last two weeks, Alabama still ranks fourth in the country in first-half scoring at 26 points per contest. Meanwhile, Tennessee has scored one touchdown in its last six quarters of play. The Tide should roll early in this one.

PREDICTION: Alabama -11.5 (-110)
