One of the highlights of college football's opening weekend is the match between Clemson and Georgia in the Peach State.

The two teams will look to lay down an early marker for the College Football Playoff and start the season with a bang. With so much talent on the field, there are plenty of opportunities for value with our college football picks.

We've paired three together for our same-game parlay pick for Clemson vs Georgia on Saturday, Aug 31.

Best Clemson vs Georgia SGP for Week 1

Dominic Lovett any time touchdown

Cade Klubnik Under 174.5 passing yards

Clemson team total Under 17.5 points

Leg 1 — Dominic Lovett any time touchdown

Dominic Lovett is one of the premier wide receivers expected to fill the void left by the departures of Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey. The early returns are positive, too.

"So far, I would say Dom has had a very good spring," Georgia head coach Kirby Smart said on Tuesday to the assembled media. "He's so much more confident in the offense. I think Carson [Beck] has a lot of confidence in him. They're on the same wavelength."

That wavelength comment is something that speaks volumes. With over 600 yards receiving and four touchdowns last season, Lovett is likely the most proven pass-catching option in this offense.

That trust is paramount here, and I expect him to get plenty of targets in such a big game.

Leg 2 — Cade Klubnik Under 174.5 passing yards

I've seen enough from Cade Klubnik last season to be entirely out on him, but outside that, this comes down to strategy.

Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney will want to shorten this game, keep the ball, and give Georgia as few opportunities to touch the ball as possible. This means that Klubnik will have fewer chances to air out the ball. History is also on our side here, too. Klubnik faced one elite passing defense out of conference last season. That was Notre Dame, which finished the year 1st in EPA per dropback. He barely eclipsed the 100-yard mark in that game. What happens when facing a defense that is potentially better in what will likely be a hostile environment? I know the answer.

Leg 3 — Clemson team total Under 17.5

To round things off, we’re taking Clemson’s team total Under 17.5 points, which is in keeping with the rest of my handicap.

The Tigers' ground-and-pound ball-control approach could work some when working the clock, but will it result in many points? I don’t expect so. Clemson was last in the ACC in red zone scoring last season and only better than six teams overall. If I expect the Tigers to make improvements, there’s not much to point to that being on the offensive side of the ball.

That’s a scary problem against Georgia
