Oregon vs Washington State picks and predictions November 14

Tyler Shough has to fill Justin Herbert's big shoes as Oregon's QB, but Michael Jenkins likes him to get the job done against Washington State in Week 11.

You ever randomly fall in love with a team while college football betting, and you can’t explain why? Last season, it was Wyoming for me. I couldn’t get enough of those mustard yellow and doo-doo brown uniforms, and Cowboys covered at ton! (Note: Definitely trust a guy who writes about sports betting because he’s a four-year-old who likes team colors.)

This year, I’m on Oregon. I don’t particularly enjoy the folks at Nike turning the vomit from a three-night bender in Beaverton into a uniform design, but I’m still a fan of Mario Cristobal’s bunch.

Here are our best college football free picks and predictions for No. 11 Oregon at Washington State, with kickoff scheduled for Saturday, November 14 at 7:00 p.m. ET in Pullman, Washington.

Against the Spread (ATS) Pick

It took a little longer than expected, but the Ducks eventually pulled away and covered the spread last Saturday night against Stanford in their season opener, winning 35-14. The Ducks churned out 496 yards of offense thanks to CJ Verdell racking up 105 yards on the ground. Tyler Shough replaced Justin Herbert at quarterback and got more comfortable as the game continued, throwing for 227 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

The Nick Rolovich era got off to a successful start at Washington State, with the head coach taking over after spending four years in the same position at Hawaii. The Cougars led Oregon State 28-7 before fending off a late Beavers rally and winning 38-38. Washington State displayed a balanced attack, and it was Deon McIntosh leading the charge with 18 carries for 147 yards and a score.

The Cougars have been reliable against the number when it comes to playing the Ducks, but those games also saw mad scientist Mike Leach calling the shots for Washington State. The Cougars did a nice job of keeping Oregon State off balance last Saturday, but I remain bullish on an elite-level Ducks defense.

PREDICTION: Oregon -8.5 (-110)

Over/Under Pick

The Cougars will be more of a threat than the Cardinal were last Saturday—which isn’t saying much—though I do like their ability to generate offense on the ground and in the air. The Over is 5-0 in Oregon’s last five games, and I expect enough points to push this game past the Total before the Ducks tighten up and cover.

PREDICTION: Over 56.5 (-110)

Team Total Prop Pick

Cristobal has done a fantastic job of stockpiling talent in Eugene, and while the Ducks are understandably not as dangerous as they were with Herbert under center, Shough will grow into his role as the new starting quarterback. He’s not a star yet, but he’s still got a ton of weapons at his disposal. Now, if the Ducks could also add little doo-doo brown to their color scheme, I might be a fan for life.

PREDICTION: Oregon team total Over 34.5 (-150)
