NFL Week 4 AI predictions and analysis
Steelers vs Browns AI prediction
THU · 8:15 pm ET · Prime VideoMore analysis
Cleveland's offensive line is the biggest obstacle to turning this into an upset. Guards and centers matter against Pittsburgh's front, and the Browns have ruled out Teven Jenkins and Elgton Jenkins. Cleveland has already allowed nine sacks and converted only 11 of 36 third downs. Pittsburgh also has secondary absences to manage, so the Browns' priority is giving Deshaun Watson enough time to exploit them.
Cleveland's own pass rush, with seven sacks through three games, offers a way to keep Aaron Rodgers from pulling away. That gives the Browns a chance to stay close without needing their offense to suddenly become dependable.
Colts vs Commanders AI prediction
SUN · 9:30 am ET · NFL Network · LondonMore analysis
Washington's quarterback outlook improved Wednesday, but its defensive problems remain. Jayden Daniels was listed as limited with his elbow injury, a step forward without confirmation that he will start in London. The Commanders have allowed 92 points through three games. Indianapolis should find opportunities, although holding Houston to 17 last week does not erase the 74 points the Colts conceded over their first two outings.
Both defenses have left their offenses with plenty to do. Washington needs to make Indianapolis prove that last week's improvement can hold up, while the Colts have an opportunity to exploit a defense that has repeatedly struggled to get stops.
Titans vs Ravens AI prediction
SUN · 1 pm ET · CBSMore analysis
Tennessee can lose this game convincingly and still cash the spread pick. Baltimore has scored 92 points through three weeks to the Titans' 37. The useful counterweight is Tennessee's defense, which has allowed 59 points.
Keeping Baltimore from scoring on short possessions would give the Titans a chance to hang around without asking their offense to match Lamar Jackson. Tennessee needs to avoid the giveaways that would let the Ravens bypass its defense's best work.
Patriots vs Bills AI prediction
SUN · 1 pm ET · CBSMore analysis
Buffalo's running game gives it a way to win when the passing attack is less explosive. James Cook averaged 6.4 yards per carry against the Chargers last week, and none of his runs went for zero or negative yardage. That consistency can spare Josh Allen repeated third-and-long situations. New England has scored only 36 points through three games, making every empty Patriots possession especially costly.
With nine sacks allowed by the Patriots and nine recorded by Buffalo, Drake Maye's protection remains central to keeping this within one score. Cook's consistency gives the Bills a way to control possessions while making New England earn its chances to answer.
Jets vs Bears AI prediction
SUN · 1 pm ET · FOXMore analysis
Chicago's appeal starts with Ben Johnson's offense, even while the quarterback decision remains open. Johnson did not name a starter Wednesday after Case Keenum completed 70.6% of his passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns against Philadelphia. Keenum took no sacks and committed no turnovers. With Caleb Williams still recovering from his hamstring injury, Chicago's roughly 5.4 yards per rush provides another way to keep the offense manageable.
The Jets are averaging about 3.4 yards per carry, leaving more of the burden on Geno Smith. Chicago has a short week, but its balance offers a clearer route to sustained scoring than New York has shown.
Jaguars vs Bengals AI prediction
SUN · 1 pm ET · CBSMore analysis
Jacksonville's run defense can force Cincinnati to earn its points through the air. The Jaguars are allowing 91.3 rushing yards per game and have gone 20 straight games without an opposing player reaching 75 rushing yards. That is useful against Joe Burrow, although it does not make this a comfortable assignment: Jacksonville has allowed 235.7 passing yards per game, leaving room for Cincinnati to move the ball.
The Jaguars do not need to shut down Burrow; they need enough stops to complement an offense that has protected Trevor Lawrence well. Cincinnati's ability to pressure without blitzing makes that protection especially valuable for keeping Jacksonville's intermediate passing game available.
Cowboys vs Texans AI prediction
SUN · 1 pm ET · FOXMore analysis
The two pass-protection matchups could keep this Texas showdown tight. Houston has allowed 10 sacks, but Dallas has generated only two, giving C.J. Stroud an opportunity to operate with less disruption. At the other end, the Texans' 11-sack defense faces a Cowboys line that has surrendered just three. Neither defense can assume the pressure it needs will arrive automatically.
The Cowboys have scored 88 points through three games, while Houston has managed 23 over its past two. The Texans need to turn any extra time in the pocket into sustained drives before they can comfortably separate from Dak Prescott.
Cardinals vs Giants AI prediction
SUN · 1 pm ET · CBSMore analysis
New York's quarterback trade does not immediately change Sunday's assignment. The Giants acquired J.J. McCarthy, but John Harbaugh has identified Jameis Winston as the starter. More pressing is an offense that has scored 18 points across its past two games. Left tackle Andrew Thomas also missed Wednesday's practice with a groin issue, although Harbaugh said he expected Thomas to be fine.
Arizona scored 30 against San Francisco but allowed 36, so the Giants have an opening if they can sustain drives. Thomas' availability matters to giving Winston the time to exploit that vulnerability.
Rams vs Eagles AI prediction
SUN · 1 pm ET · FOXMore analysis
Philadelphia needs an offensive response, but the spread gives it room to fall short of a full rebound. The Eagles managed seven points in Chicago and now face a short turnaround against a Rams team that scored 26 in Denver. Los Angeles lost that game, too. Both teams have reasons to clean up their play, but Philadelphia's eight sacks allowed make protection the immediate priority.
Home field gives the Eagles a better setting to regain some offensive rhythm. Their protection needs to keep possessions alive long enough to make Los Angeles defend a full drive, rather than allowing sacks to dictate Philadelphia's options.
Packers vs Buccaneers AI prediction
SUN · 1 pm ET · FOXMore analysis
Tampa Bay needs to keep Jalon Daniels out of obvious passing situations. The rookie is starting for the injured Baker Mayfield, and Todd Bowles expects opponents to test him with pressure and changing defensive looks. That puts an offense with 13 sacks allowed under scrutiny. The Buccaneers' defense offers help by matching up well against Green Bay's struggling running game.
The upset depends on Daniels limiting mistakes while the defense makes Jordan Love sustain drives. Green Bay's extra rest is a challenge, but its 10-for-36 third-down record leaves an opportunity for Tampa Bay to keep the game within reach.
Dolphins vs Vikings AI prediction
SUN · 4:05 pm ET · FOXMore analysis
Miami's case is about the points, not an offensive turnaround. Minnesota has 14 sacks through three games, while the Dolphins have allowed nine and scored only 36 points. Miami is also rebuilding its backfield after De'Von Achane's season-ending knee injury, with Jaylen Wright working back on a limited basis Wednesday. Avoiding turnovers and long-yardage situations is essential against this defense.
Miami needs to make Minnesota earn its points on long drives and avoid giving the Vikings short fields. That would let the Dolphins stay competitive without asking a depleted offense to trade explosive plays.
Chiefs vs Raiders AI prediction
SUN · 4:25 pm ET · CBSMore analysis
Las Vegas has to prove its early scoring holds up against a tougher defense. The Raiders have put up 88 points through three games, including 35 in New Orleans. Kansas City has allowed only 50, so Kirk Cousins faces a different challenge this week. The Raiders' 10 sacks give them a way to keep the game competitive if they can disrupt Patrick Mahomes without handing him easy answers.
The Chiefs have allowed only four sacks, making their protection a useful counter to Las Vegas' pass rush. Kansas City's defensive results also suggest the Raiders will have to work harder to sustain the production they found in New Orleans.
Chargers vs Seahawks AI prediction
SUN · 4:25 pm ET · CBSMore analysis
Seattle's loss in Washington looked worse on the scoreboard than it did between the end zones. The Seahawks averaged 6.8 yards per play to the Commanders' 4.0, but three Seattle turnovers led to Washington touchdowns. That helps explain how a defense that allowed just 17 points across the opening two games conceded 33 in Week 3. The Chargers have scored only 44 points all season.
Los Angeles has allowed eight sacks, while Seattle has surrendered only three. Cleaner possessions from Sam Darnold's offense would give the Seahawks a chance to turn that protection advantage into separation.
Broncos vs 49ers AI prediction
SUN · 4:25 pm ET · CBSMore analysis
Denver's pass rush is the clearest test of San Francisco's strong start. The 49ers have scored 98 points without allowing a sack through three games. Denver has eight sacks, so the question is whether the Broncos can disrupt Brock Purdy before San Francisco turns that protection into another productive afternoon.
Bo Nix's offense needs to build on its 30-point showing against the Rams. Sustaining drives would give Denver's defense a chance to reset instead of repeatedly facing a San Francisco offense that has been difficult to slow down.
Lions vs Panthers AI prediction
SUN · 8:20 pm ET · NBCMore analysis
Carolina's depleted secondary raises the stakes for its offense. The Panthers placed starting cornerbacks Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson on injured reserve Wednesday, giving Jared Goff a favorable matchup to attack. Detroit has scored 93 points through three games, but it has also allowed 95. Bryce Young needs to exploit that defensive vulnerability to keep Carolina in touch.
The Panthers' trouble defending the run already gave Detroit another way to move the ball; the cornerback absences compound that challenge. The case for the points rests on Carolina answering offensively rather than consistently stopping the Lions.
Falcons vs Saints AI prediction
MON · 8:15 pm ET · ESPNMore analysis
Atlanta's rebound needs to hold up beyond one strong performance. Michael Penix Jr. returned as the Falcons scored 35 in Green Bay after producing only 16 points across their first two games. New Orleans has allowed 83 points, so Atlanta should have chances to keep improving. The Saints have also scored 81 themselves, preventing this from becoming a simple bet on which offense looked better last week.
The Saints' 10 sacks allowed give Atlanta a way to disrupt Tyler Shough. New Orleans needs to protect him well enough to take advantage of its own scoring potential, while the Falcons still have to show that Penix's return can produce consecutive strong performances.
