Buffalo Bills

Bills-5.5

Score prediction
Bills 30, Raiders 20

Buffalo can win this matchup on the ground

Las Vegas just allowed New England to pile up 536 yards, including 165 on the ground. Buffalo can attack that same weakness with Josh Allen and James Cook, whose combined rushing threat forces defenders to account for more than the handoff. Productive early downs would let the Bills control their play selection and keep the Raiders from attacking obvious passing situations. That's the strongest reason to lay the points.

The concern is what happens when Buffalo gives the ball back. The Bills entered Wednesday ranked 28th in points allowed, with a minus-four turnover margin. Staying out West avoids another cross-country round trip, but the short week after Monday overtime still gives Las Vegas a credible route to a late cover. Our original 30–20 projection provides 4.5 points of room against -5.5. Buffalo needs its offense to create that separation rather than count on a tidy defensive performance.

NFL AI biggest upset: Giants over Saints

Biggest outright upsetSaints at Giants · Sunday, 1 pm ET
New York Giants

GiantsWin outright

Score prediction
Giants 24, Saints 20

New York can make Shough uncomfortable

New York's pressure packages give this upset a concrete foundation. The Giants have blitzed on 57.9% of dropbacks over their past two games, while Tyler Shough has averaged 5.4 yards per attempt against the blitz this season. Sending extra rushers can force the Saints into shorter throws and keep their offense from generating the explosive gains that punish an underdog. Shough practiced fully Wednesday despite his left-hand injury, so this case rests on the matchup rather than an assumed absence.

There are risks on both sides of the ball. Abdul Carter missed Wednesday's practice, as did Giants tackles Andrew Thomas and Jermaine Eluemunor. Those are participation reports, not final game designations, but the tackles' availability matters to Jameis Winston's protection. Malik Nabers and Isaiah Likely give him productive outlets if the pocket holds. The original 24–20 forecast makes New York our lone underdog projected to win outright.

Denver's depleted secondary makes protecting this small spread harder. Patrick Surtain II and Talanoa Hufanga are out, while Riley Moss is questionable. Seattle's Jaxon Smith-Njigba finished the week with a full practice and no game designation, giving the Seahawks a healthier receiving threat against a defense missing two important starters.

Joe Osborne's Seahawks vs. Broncos prediction backs Seattle, emphasizing Denver's limited passing game and third-down struggles. Our original Denver +2.5 relies on the home side keeping this to one possession, with Bo Nix's legs offering another way to finish drives. Seattle's four giveaways last week show how quickly that game script can change. The secondary news strengthens the Over case but makes the Denver cover more precarious.

Jacksonville's protection now matters as much as its London advantage. Anton Harrison is on injured reserve, and Walker Little will start at left tackle against a Houston defense capable of disrupting the pocket. Trevor Lawrence threw for 331 yards last week, but asking him to repeat that production without clean protection would ignore the changed personnel.

Neil Parker's Texans vs. Jaguars prediction favors Jacksonville's continuity overseas and its defensive matchup, while acknowledging Houston's pass rush. Houston also adds Marvin Harrison Jr. for his announced debut, although his workload is uncertain. Staying in London helps Jacksonville's preparation without making Wembley a conventional home field. The Over has only 1.5 points of projection room; Parker's Under lean highlights how pressure and stalled drives could erase it.

Cleveland can keep this close by extending the possessions Baltimore failed to finish last week. Atlanta converted nine of 17 third downs against the Ravens, repeatedly keeping its offense on the field. Lamar Jackson also remained out of practice Wednesday with his ankle injury, so Baltimore's quarterback situation is unresolved rather than cleared up by the calendar.

Jason Logan's Ravens vs. Browns prediction goes the other way, arguing Baltimore's defense can pressure Cleveland's inconsistent offense. Trey Hendrickson's full participation supports that concern, while Browns running back Quinshon Judkins and tackle Tytus Howard missed practice. These are practice reports, not final Sunday rulings. Cleveland's points still require sustained drives; a compromised running game or protection would make that route harder and leave the Over more vulnerable.

Philadelphia's backfield remains a problem rather than a solved injury story. Saquon Barkley and Will Shipley missed Wednesday's practice, as did DeVonta Smith. Landon Dickerson returned on a limited basis within his practice window, which is progress but does not establish that he has been activated or will play. The Eagles need workable early downs after rushing for only 22 yards in London.

Shawn Krest's Panthers vs. Eagles prediction prefers Carolina outright, citing its passing offense and rest advantage after the bye. Those are real objections to our Philadelphia selection. The Eagles' route is to exploit Carolina's coverage issues and sustain drives without relying on a fully restored running game. Our original -1.5 remains the grading line; the later computer pick uses a different number.

Atlanta's running game offers a steadier route to a close finish than another turnover-heavy afternoon. Jason Logan's Bears vs. Falcons prediction identifies Chicago's run defense as a target and explains how Atlanta can generate pressure without committing extra rushers. That combination can protect the Falcons' possession count and make the original +3.5 useful even if Chicago improves on last week's offense.

Both quarterback situations moved forward Wednesday: Michael Penix Jr. practiced fully, and Chicago gave Caleb Williams a full-participation estimate following a walkthrough. Neither entry is a final Sunday designation. A healthier pair would remove some of the uncertainty that supported the original Under, so that selection now needs more help from Atlanta's ground game and fewer possessions. The published forecast and grading lines remain unchanged.

New York's pressure can force the Saints to win through shorter, less explosive drives. The Giants have blitzed heavily over the past two games, and Shough's production against extra rushers gives them a reason to continue. Geoff Clark's Saints vs. Giants prediction also identifies New Orleans' protection as a favorable matchup for the Giants, especially if the Saints cannot establish the run.

New York still has to protect Winston. Andrew Thomas and Jermaine Eluemunor did not practice Wednesday, while Carter's absence also puts a question over the pass rush. None is a final game-status ruling. The Under depends on pressure ending drives rather than creating short-field turnovers; Winston's lost fumble last week is a reminder that those outcomes can look very different on the scoreboard.

The Jets can test New England's protection far more severely than Las Vegas did. New York recorded eight sacks against Cleveland, with three from David Bailey. Patriots tackles Will Campbell and Morgan Moses were limited Wednesday, making their progress relevant to that matchup. Maye practiced fully despite his shoulder listing; the concern is protecting him against a different caliber of rush.

Dustin Saracini's Jets vs. Patriots prediction takes New York's points because its defense can keep the game close. Our New England selection depends on Maye's offense sustaining enough drives to separate from the Jets, not repeating a 45-point eruption. The original -6.5 is also below the touchdown-plus spread in that preview. The Over has less protection: our 44-point forecast clears its published line by just half a point.

Pittsburgh's receiver losses give Tampa Bay another reason to keep this game on the ground. Roman Wilson and Ben Skowronek have been ruled out, leaving Aaron Rodgers with fewer options after Michael Pittman Jr. went on injured reserve. That makes another three-touchdown passing performance a poor assumption, even after Pittsburgh's win over Indianapolis.

Geoff Clark's Steelers vs. Buccaneers prediction questions how repeatable that win's long scoring plays are and favors Tampa Bay's extra preparation. Baker Mayfield missed Wednesday's practice, leaving Jalon Daniels likely to start again without making that official. Tampa Bay's 241 rushing yards against Dallas provide a workable approach for the rookie. The points remain appealing, but our Over has only half a point of margin and faces more resistance from Pittsburgh's depleted receiving group.

Indianapolis needs better red-zone execution to turn Tennessee's protection problems into a cover. Cam Ward was sacked four times against Houston, giving the Colts a clear incentive to force obvious passing downs. Yet Indianapolis reached first-and-goal on all three red-zone trips against Pittsburgh and scored only one touchdown. Field goals would leave this spread uncomfortable.

Geoff Clark's Titans vs. Colts prediction takes Tennessee's points, arguing its run defense can make Jonathan Taylor work while the Colts' efficiency remains unconvincing. That is the strongest objection to laying nearly a touchdown. Our preference needs Indianapolis to finish drives through more than Taylor alone, while the Over requires Tennessee to provide substantially more offense than it did in last week's three-point showing.

Arizona can lose the matchup comfortably and still cover a spread this large. The Cardinals have allowed at least 31 points in each of their four losses, giving Stafford and Nacua an obvious opportunity. Sustaining Arizona's own offense becomes harder if Jeremiyah Love's ankle keeps limiting his explosiveness. He missed Wednesday's practice, although he has not been ruled out.

Geoff Clark's Cardinals vs. Rams prediction backs the Rams, emphasizing their pressure against Arizona's weakened line and their offensive advantage. Those concerns explain why this is a points play rather than an upset call. The Rams also come off Monday overtime, and a substantial lead could encourage a slower second half. That game script gives Arizona room inside +13.5 and supports the Under without requiring its defense to suddenly shut Los Angeles down.

Buffalo can attack Las Vegas on the ground without needing a repeat of Monday's shootout. Allen and Cook combined for 232 rushing yards against the Rams, while the Raiders just surrendered 536 total yards to New England. Their ability to threaten both the handoff and the quarterback run can create easier downs against a defense already struggling to get off the field.

Neil Parker's Bills vs. Raiders prediction also favors Buffalo's offense, but expects enough Raiders production to lean Over. That is a useful warning for our Under: Buffalo entered Wednesday ranked 28th in points allowed, and the short week adds another concern. Kirk Cousins' protection problems provide a route to stalled Las Vegas drives, but the Bills cannot treat last week's pressure rate as a promise their own defense will control this game.

The Chargers need fewer wasted possessions more than they need a sudden offensive breakout. Herbert took five sacks against Denver and added two turnovers, bringing his season total to nine. Joe Alt's absence from Wednesday's practice keeps protection central to the matchup. Short-field giveaways could erase the benefit of taking more than a touchdown before Los Angeles settles in.

Joe Osborne's Chargers vs. Chiefs prediction backs Kansas City because its defense can exploit that damaged line. Our +8.5 depends on the Chargers limiting scoring opportunities while avoiding their worst mistakes. Rashee Rice also missed Wednesday's practice, a reason to monitor Kansas City's receiving options without treating him as ruled out. Longer, run-oriented possessions would help Los Angeles and the Under, but only if its protection prevents repeated short fields.

Green Bay can pressure Dallas by making its defense stay on the field. Tampa Bay held the ball for 39:21 and rushed for 241 yards against the Cowboys, exposing a problem that Jordan Love can attack through a different route. Dallas needs to disrupt the pocket before Love has time to develop throws downfield.

Jason Logan's Cowboys vs. Packers prediction centers on that lack of pressure and Dallas' vulnerability to explosive passes. Green Bay has coverage concerns too: Keisean Nixon and Benjamin St-Juste missed Wednesday's practice, while CeeDee Lamb participated fully for Dallas. Those are not final availability rulings, but they make Prescott's response important to our Under. Green Bay also cannot assume another five-takeaway gift like the one Chicago provided.

Washington's protection must improve before Daniels can turn this into a competitive road game. The Commanders allowed five sacks in his return against New York, while San Francisco just produced five sacks and four takeaways against Seattle. The 49ers will be without suspended linebacker Dre Greenlaw, however, so Washington faces a defense missing an important contributor.

Jason Logan's Commanders vs. 49ers prediction favors San Francisco's efficient offense against a vulnerable Washington defense, while warning that laying more than seven leaves little margin. Our original -7.5 needs the 49ers to build separation through sustained offense rather than count on another four takeaways. The Over is particularly sensitive to Washington's contribution: a 51-point forecast leaves only half a point above the published total if sacks derail too many drives.

How our NFL AI predictions work

Our NFL AI predictions use a custom forecasting model built with GPT-6 Astra to project a final score for each matchup using historical scoring results, team-strength ratings, game conditions, matchup details, and other relevant context for predicting the final score.

The score forecasts are fixed before we compare them with the selected Kalshi spread and total to produce our ATS and Over/Under picks. Kalshi percentages are market quotes, separate from the score forecasts. We track results against the original selections and lines at time of publish.

We’ll continue updating the process as the season develops and publicly track every published score prediction, ATS pick, and Over/Under selection.
