The re-energized Buffalo Bills are on course for a fifth straight AFC East crown, but a visit to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday will tell us more about both teams’ playoff upside.

Though Seattle snapped a three-game skid last weekend, my Bills vs Seahawks predictions lean towards Buffalo — and my NFL picks focus on a big day for Josh Allen’s newest weapon in this October 27 showdown.

Who will win Bills vs Seahawks?

There were encouraging signs for the Seattle Seahawks following their Week 7 road win over the Atlanta Falcons, but the injury blows keep coming and the hosts enter this marquee matchup with some big names on the injury report.

Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills pummeled the Tennessee Titans last weekend with 34 straight points, and four Buffalo receivers finished with more than 50 yards. That kind of balance should help the visitors sustain long drives to silence the Lumen Field crowd and grind out the win.

Amari Cooper Over 55.5 receiving yards (-110 at BetMGM)

My analysis

A change of scene is doing wonders for Amari Cooper.

The Bills rescued Cooper from a miserable year with the Cleveland Browns, and the trade is already paying off. Cooper finished with four catches for 66 yards and a touchdown in his Week 7 debut for the Bills, and I’m banking on another big day for the veteran receiver after a full week of preparation with Josh Allen and the coaching staff.

To his credit, Cooper even went past this O/U twice with the Browns this season before landing in a far more favorable quarterback situation with Buffalo.

Though the Seahawks were sharper defensively against the Falcons last weekend and came away with three turnovers, they still allowed two receivers to pick up 60+ yards (Drake London and Kyle Pitts). That bodes well for the Bills’ trio of Cooper, Khalil Shakir, and Keon Coleman.

Seattle has allowed 121 points across its past four games, and while run defense has been the glaring flaw for Mike Macdonald’s men, there will be play-action passing opportunities for Allen to pick up chunks of yardage.

With tight ends Dawson Knox and Dalton Kincaid both listed as questionable, Buffalo should be calling Cooper’s number early and often.

Bills vs Seahawks same-game parlay

Amari Cooper Over 55.5 receiving yards

Buffalo -3

Geno Smith Over 23.5 passing completions

This is a tricky matchup to evaluate, particularly with Seattle sweating on the health of DK Metcalf and Kenneth Walker III. That duo completely alters the hosts’ offensive ceiling.

Ultimately, I’m laying the points with the Bills, who’ve prevailed in back-to-back games following a mini-blip. In what should be a tight contest, the visitors look a little more balanced.

Allen, James Cook, and Ray Davis are poised to test a Seahawks defense that has allowed an average of 146 yards per game on the ground through the first seven weeks. Meanwhile, Buffalo's defense is also quietly surrendering fewer than 20 points per game this season.

To wrap up this SGP, Geno Smith leads the NFL with 1,985 passing yards this season, and he’s had at least 26 completions in five of his past seven outings (with 30+ in three of those starts).

Even if Metcalf is ruled out, I see the Seahawks taking some shots down the field with Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Smith’s pass attempts could rocket up if the hosts fall behind. The Over on 23.5 completions provides great value on Sunday.

Bills vs Seahawks spread and Over/Under analysis

  • While the Bills are a perfect 3-0 at home this year, they’re just 2-2 on the road this season. Even so, Allen’s game-changing ability makes them narrow road favorites here.
  • Buffalo is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 contests, while Seattle is just 2-8 ATS in its past 10 games at home.
  • While the Under could be worth a longer look if major absences are confirmed in the lead-up to kick-off, the Over is 5-2 for Seattle this season. The hosts have also scored at least 20 points in all seven outings this year.
  • The Bills have cashed the Over on the 2Q total in 16 of their last 19 contests.
