Daniel Jones' Record Against Every NFL Team

As is the case with every draft pick in the Big Apple, Daniel Jones' selection in 2019 was highly criticized by fans. Whether the New York Giants' pivot can meet expectations remains to be seen as he enters his sixth season with the G-Men.

Daniel Jones' career in the NFL has been a mixed bag up until this point.

A former sixth-overall pick by the New York Giants, Jones has shown flashes of brilliance with his dual-threat capabilities. However, he also enters the upcoming season with an 85.2 career passer rating and just one playoff appearance.

With five years of service in the books, let's take a look at Daniel Jones' record against every team in the NFL.

Jones vs the Dallas Cowboys

Death, taxes, and Daniel Jones coming up short against the Dallas Cowboys

Jones has a dismal 1-8 record against America's Team and holds a TD-INT of 4-6 in nine starts, including a measly passer rating of 72.8.

The Giants fell to the 'Boys again in Week 4 of the 2024 season, losing 20-15 at home when Jones' Hail Mary heave was intercepted by Amani Oruwariye with five seconds remaining.

Jones vs the Minnesota Vikings

The peak of Jones' career came during the 2022-23 season, leading the Giants to the postseason and upsetting the Minnesota Vikings as 3.5-point underdogs in the Wild Card round.

Jones completely stole the show in Minnesota, throwing for 301 yards and two touchdowns and rushing for 78 yards in a 31-24 win over the Vikes.

Unfortunately he wasn't quite as sharp during Week 1 of the 2024 season, throwing two interceptions in a lopsided 28-6 loss to Minnesota. It will be interesting to see how many more chances he gets in the Big Apple.

Jones vs the Philadelphia Eagles

The Giants were eliminated in the NFL Divisional Round by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023, with Jones completing just 15-of-27 attempts for 135 yards and an interception.

However, Jones' most notable moment against Philly came months earlier when he set the record for the longest quarterback run (80 yards), though it ended disastrously.

Jones vs the Washington Commanders

If there's one team that Jones has a decent track record against, it's the Washington Commanders

Facing the NFC East rivals, the Giants QB boasts a 5-3 win/loss record, including tying the rookie record with five touchdown passes against Washington in 2019.

Jones just missed padding that record in Week 2 of the 2024 season, as the Giants fell 21-18 to the Commanders in the nation's capital. The Duke product completed 16-of-28 passes for 178 yards and two TDs in the loss.
