Those football fans who watched Netflix’s series “Receiver” this summer are far from shocked that Las Vegas Raiders star wideout Davante Adams has asked the team to trade him just four weeks into the 2024 campaign.

Adams, who is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, informed the Raiders that he would prefer to be traded ahead of the league’s November 5 deadline — echoing his discontent featured prominently in the popular docuseries that followed the frustrating 2023 season for Adams.

With these reports has come a ton of speculation around which NFL teams would make a run at the three-time All-Pro WR, and there have been multiple franchises sniffing around Adams in the past 24 hours.

That’s prompted bookmakers to release Davante Adams odds for his next team. Here’s a look at the favorites and their chances of adding Adams before the trade deadline.

Davante Adams next team odds

Team Odds
Jets New York Jets -125
Saints New Orleans Saints +300
Commanders Washington Commanders +300
Steelers Pittsburgh Steelers +700
Chiefs Kansas City Chiefs +1,200
Cowboys Dallas Cowboys +1,200

Odds as of October 2, 2024.

Davante Adams next team favorites

New York Jets (-125)

Adams’ grumblings coincide with Aaron Rodgers’ growing frustrations with the New York Jets. Those two were the best QB-WR combo in the NFL for many years during their tenure in Green Bay and have stayed close despite their departures from the Packers.

Although Adams would give the Jets a loaded receiving corps, Las Vegas’ asking price will be very high and New York may not be able to ante up considering Gang Green burned a ton of picks getting Rodgers in 2023. This could mark the second time an NFL team misses out on Adams because they sold the farm for Rodgers.

New Orleans Saints (+300)

It’s not hard to connect the dots between the Crescent City and No. 17. Look no further than the Fresno State roots between Adams and New Orleans Saints QB Derek Carr.

Sure, these two couldn’t cook up that same college chemistry for the Raiders, but Adams is leaning towards a QB he knows and NOLA is on his rumored short list of landing spots. New Orleans would have to get creative with Adams’ existing deal to create the cap space, asking the veteran WR to restructure before any promise of a long-term deal.

Washington Commanders (+300)

Jayden Daniels fever is sweeping the land, even influencing the NFL rumor mill. The Washington Commanders rookie QB is the talk of the town and adding Adams to Kliff Kingsbury’s playbook would make those happy Commanders fans wet the bed with joy.

Washington is in search of another top-tier target alongside Terry McLaurin and was reportedly in the hunt for 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk this summer. The Commanders boast an abundance of cap space and draft picks, along with a new ownership group ready to prove they’re all in.

Pittsburgh Steelers (+700)

Putting Adams alongside Justin Fields or Russell Wilson feels like putting racing tires on a 2011 Toyota Corolla. If he didn’t like Jimmy Garoppolo, Gardiner Minshew, or Aiden O’Connell throwing him the ball, the QB situation in the Steel City isn’t much better.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are on the lookout for another receiver and were also far down the rabbit hole with Aiyuk this offseason. Reports say the Steelers have contacted Las Vegas to inquire about its ask, with the Raiders likely seeking a first or second-rounder + a big-name player.

Kansas City Chiefs (+1,200)

If the Raiders’ front office wanted to piss off fans even more than they already are, they’d trade Adams to the rival Kansas City Chiefs. The fit is there, with Kansas City down two top WRs in Hollywood Brown and Rashee Rice.

But despite the Chiefs showing up among the faves on the “next team” odds board, NFL insiders have said that Kansas City is not an option for Las Vegas.

Dallas Cowboys (+1,200)

After staying still in the offseason, the Dallas Cowboys could be ready to make a roster move after a poor start to 2024. Dallas is reportedly one of the handful of teams asking about Adams in the wake of his trade request.

There is a Green Bay connection with head coach Mike McCarthy, who was with Adams at the start of his career. Jerry Jones would have to flip a first-rounder and likely sweeten the pot with an additional player, for what could turn out to be a 14-week rental of the 31-year-old receiver.
