The San Francisco 49ers host the New York Jets on Monday Night Football at Levi’s Stadium. The reigning NFC Champions are 4.5-point home favorites as of Sunday afternoon over the Jets.

The 49ers had a few storylines following them throughout camp but both Brandon Aiyuk and Trent Williams ended their holdouts and are ready to go for Week 1.

Read on for my trio of NFL player props for our Jets vs. 49ers predictions on Monday, September 9.

Editor's note: This article was written and published prior to the news of Christian McCaffrey being listed as inactive (calf).

Prop bet #1: Christian McCaffrey 75+ rush yards

-113 at FanDuel

It’s no secret that Christian McCaffrey is one of the best in the league and a key cog in the San Francisco 49ers offense. The star running back is listed as questionable for Monday night’s opener with a calf and Achilles injury, but he practiced all week and expects a usual workload to open the season.

"He looks like Christian to me," Chris Foerster, San Francisco's running game coordinator, said earlier this week. "You need to practice, so the guys who haven't practiced, I don't want to say there's rust, but there's always a little something that goes on just because they haven't been doing it every day. There's just that grind of every day, day after day. But he's looked good."

McCaffrey ran for a league-leading (and career-high) 1,459 yards in his first full season with the 49ers. He had 272 carries — the most since 2019 — and was voted the Offensive Player of the Year.

The running back had 75+ rushing yards in 11 of 16 games last season and in all three playoff games. Including the postseason, McCaffrey had 75+ rushing yards in seven of nine games at Levi’s Stadium.

The New York Jets have a stout defense but that didn’t show up against the run last year. They were one of just nine teams to allow over 2,100 yards on the ground.

Prop bet #2: Aaron Rodgers 1+ interceptions

-114 at FanDuel

Aaron Rodgers is making his much-anticipated return from the Achilles injury he suffered just a few plays into last season. He missed all of last year and did not play in the preseason, so this is expected to be his first full game since January 2023.

Only time will tell if Rodgers still has the talent and timeliness that helped him win four MVP awards, and that starts with a tough test against the 49ers.

San Francisco tied Chicago for the league lead with 22 interceptions last season. The 49ers have a well-coached defense that should be able to take advantage of Rodgers’ rust, which will benefit our NFL picks.

Prop bet #3: Breece Hall Under 15.5 rush attempts

-132 at FanDuel

With Rodgers back under center, I expect third-year running back Breece Hall to take a bit of a back seat to the quarterback. Yes, he’ll still be used quite a bit after racking up 994 yards last season, but the game script may not go in his favor.

The 49ers are favored at home with a total set at 43.5. It wouldn’t be surprising for the 49ers to take an early lead, or at the very least hold a lead in the second half, to force the Jets to use the passing game a bit more.

Hall only had 16+ carries in four of 17 games last season. That includes a whopping 37 carries in Week 18 against the Patriots. It was much more typical for Hall to be held to 13 or fewer carries, including single-digit rushes in four contests.
