My analysis
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray hasn’t been too effective this season through the air. Outside of a 266-yard, three-touchdown performance in the home opener against the Rams, Murray has thrown for just one touchdown in each game while failing to reach 200 yards in three contests. In fact, Murray has topped out at 214 yards besides the home opener outburst.
That’s why I’m looking at Murray’s rushing yards against the Los Angeles Chargers. Murray has run for 261 yards on 30 carries and has surpassed 32.5 yards in four of his six games, including in two of three games at home.
On top of that, the Chargers allowed Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix to rush for 61 yards on just six carries last week. While that was the first time a QB had more than 12 rushing yards against Los Angeles this season, the Chargers hadn’t played too many quarterbacks who are rushing threats. But Murray is one.
Murray went Over 32.5 rushing yards in four of his eight games last season and has done so in four of six contests this year. He’s made things happen with his legs, which will be necessary again against the Chargers’ stout passing defense.
Kyler Murray MNF same-game parlay
A quick glance at the Chargers’ defensive numbers shows an impressive 192 passing yards allowed per game. However, that’s heavily weighted by Bryce Young’s 84-yard showing in Week 2. Outside of that, all four quarterbacks have had at least 216 passing yards against them.
Los Angeles has already gone on the road and won in Carolina and Denver this season. While the Cardinals had a great home opener against the Rams, they lost 20-13 to Detroit and 42-14 to Washington in Arizona. The Chargers have what it takes for another road win here.
