Week 14 Injuries
Carolina Panthers: Christian McCaffrey suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 2 that kept him out until Week 9 at Kansas City, where he endured a shoulder injury that has kept him out since then. It looked as if McCaffrey might return this week, but he's now got a quad issue, and on Thursday was listed as doubtful. Further, the Panthers on Monday put a handful of players on the reserve/COVID list, including wideouts D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel. Samuel was taken off the COVID list Friday, but Moore remains. The Panthers opened -3.5 at The SuperBook, which took the line off the board much of the week, then went back up Friday at Panthers -3, with a total of 45.5. On Saturday, the line moved to Carolina -3.5 and the total to 44.5, down a point from the opener.
Las Vegas Raiders: Positive news is coming from Raiders camp, with standout right tackle Trent Brown activated Monday off the reserve/COVID list. Brown has been out since Week 5. The status of running back Josh Jacobs (ankle) is still questionable after he sat out the Week 13 win at the New York Jets. The SuperBook opened Las Vegas as a 3-point home underdog to Indianapolis, and the line moved to Raiders +2.5 Monday, then back to +3 Tuesday. The total moved from 50.5 to 51.5 by Tuesday, returned to 50.5 Thursday, then shot to 52.5 Friday.
New York Giants: Quarterback Daniel Jones (hamstring), who sat out last week's shocking win at Seattle, is questionable for Sunday's home game against Arizona, but reports Saturday indicate that Jones will start. The line at The SuperBook bounced around a bit Thursday, certainly in part due to the news of Jones returning to practice. Thursday morning, the number was at Giants +2, tightened to +1.5, but then bounced up to +2.5, the original openning number. On Friday, the Giants nudged to +3 and back to +2.5, and the total moved from 45 to 45.5. The Giants remained +2.5 Saturday, but the total moved up a point from 45.5 to 46.5.
Cleveland Browns: Tight end Austin Hooper (neck) is unlikely to play in the Monday night home clash against Baltimore. Wideout KhaDarel Hodge (hamstring) is out for a second straight week, and cornerback Denzel Ward (calf) is out for the third straight game. The SuperBook on Saturday moved the Browns from +2.5 to +3.
Washington Football Team: Running back Antonio Gibson (turf toe) on Friday was ruled out of Sunday's contest against San Francisco, in a game at the Arizona Cardinals' stadium. However, Washington opened +4 at The SuperBook and is now +3, while the total has been relatively stable at 43.5.
Detroit Lions: Quarterback Matthew Stafford (thumb) was listed as questionable Friday for Sunday's tilt against Green Bay, prompting The SuperBook to take the game off the board. Detroit opened +8.5 and moved to +7.5 Monday, where the line stuck all week until the Stafford news. The SuperBook put the game back up Saturday at Lions +8.
Atlanta Falcons: Atlanta announced Friday that Julio Jones (hamstring) is out Sunday at the Los Angeles Chargers. The Falcons were -2.5 all week at The SuperBook, but dipped a full point Friday to -1.5. The total moved from 49.5 to 50 to 49, then up to 49.5 Thursday, then back to 49 Friday.
Dallas Cowboys: Running back Ezekiel Elliott (calf) is questionable Sunday at Cincinnati, but The SuperBook line remained Cowboys -3.5 Friday. Elliott said Friday that he plans to play.
Week 14 Weather
Denver Broncos at Carolina Panthers: The early forecast projected rain and a little wind in Charlotte on Sunday, but the update Thursday shows a 67-degree day with a very light breeze. This game is currently off the board at The SuperBook, due to the aforementioned Carolina COVID issues.
Arizona Cardinals at New York Giants: The updated forecast doesn't include rain at MetLife Stadium, but there could still be winds 10-15 mph. The total is up to 46.5 from an opener of 45 at The SuperBook.
New York Jets at Seattle Seahawks: Rain in Seattle is never a surprise, and the forecast points to a 51 percent chance of light rain and light winds in the first half of Sunday's game. The total crept up a point throughout the week, from 47 to 48.
New Orleans Saints at Philadelphia Eagles: The updated forecast backs off on the chance of rain, which is now very unlikely Sunday, though there could still be winds of 10-20 mph. The SuperBook opened the total at 45 and moved to 45.5, then tumbled to 42.5 by Friday, where the number remained Saturday.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Buffalo Bills: The forecast for the Sunday night game has gotten better as the week has moved on, though it'll no doubt be chilly and maybe a little breezy in Buffalo. Gusty winds are expected during the day, but during the game, those diminish to 10-15 mph. The SuperBook opened the total at 47.5 and got as low as 46 early Thursday, but it quickly rebounded to 48 by Thursday afternoon and hit 49 Saturday.
Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns: It's expected to be chilly and windy Monday night in Cleveland, with temperatures in the low-to-mid 30s and gusty winds of 20-30 mph. Factor in the wind chill, and it'll feel like it's in the low-20s on the field. The total opened at 45.5, reached 47 and was still at 46.5 Sunday morning at The SuperBook, but it then dropped a full point to 45.5.
Week 14 Consensus
Week 14 Pros vs Joes
New Orleans Saints at Philadelphia Eagles: Philly is making a change at quarterback, from Carson Wentz to rookie Jalen Hurts, and PointsBet USA's Patrick Eichner said that's helped bring a little Pros vs. Joes appeal to this matchup. The Saints opened -7 and are down to -6.5. "Nearly 90 percent of spread bets and handle on New Orleans, but the Saints have moved off the key number," Eichner said.
