In perhaps the least shocking news of the day, the Chicago Bears have relieved Matt Eberflus of his duties as head coach.
The move — which was a long time coming — was made after Eberflus doubled down on his use (or lack thereof) of the final timeout, with his team driving for a potential game-tying field goal vs. the Detroit Lions.
The time mismanagement was but just another gaff from Eberflus, as he departs with a 14-32 record over two-plus seasons.
As for the Bears, they will be in search of their fifth head coach since 2013, and the NFL odds favor Detroit Lions OC, Ben Johnson (oh the irony).

Favorites to be the Chicago Bears' next head coach
Ben Johnson (+250)
Considering how elite the Detroit Lions offense has looked this season, it should come as no surprise to see Ben Johnson as a hot commodity for next year.
While the Chicago Bears have not exactly been a friendly destination for coaches in the past, they do have a lot of upside with a potential franchise QB, playmakers around him, and a defense that is a Top 10 scoring defense with plenty of room to improve.
We know Dan Campbell isn't going anywhere anytime soon, and the other potential openings (Jacksonville, maybe Carolina, maybe Cleveland) don't look too appealing from the outside.
Joe Brady (+300)
You can group Joe Brady and Ben Johnson together as 'offensive coordinators who are proving their worth and are ready for the next step'.
Brady is doing wonders with the Buffalo Bills offense, despite many calling their receivers among the weakest group he's had since he's been with the team in any capacity.
Again, Sean McDermott appears safe for the foreseeable future, so a promotion would have to come elsewhere.
Thomas Brown (+500)
Could the Bears look internally for their next head coach?
Thomas Brown is set to take on the interim role but what experience does he bring?
He was tabbed as a 'passing-game coordinator' before this promotion, so appointing Brown as a full-time head coach seems a bit premature.
