The New England Patriots hosting the Los Angeles Rams would’ve been a great matchup some years ago, but these teams are a combined 7-12 heading into this Week 11 tilt.
The Pats have won two of their last three, though, with Drake Maye outdueling Caleb Williams last week in Chicago.
Read on to find out why my Rams vs. Patriots predictions and NFL picks expect New England tight end Hunter Henry to go over his receiving yards total on Sunday, November 17.
Rams vs Patriots prediction
My best bet
Hunter Henry Over 36.5 receiving yards (-115 at BetMGM)
My analysis
The New England Patriots recently handed the keys over to rookie quarterback Drake Maye, and the third overall pick has found a safe receiver in the form of tight end Hunter Henry.
Since Maye took over in Week 6, Henry has seen his workload increase. He’s seen both an increase in targets and catches, and that’s led to more receiving yards as well.
Henry easily went over this 36.5-yard mark in four straight games prior to last week in Chicago. But that was a bit of a blip on the radar as the Patriots had a rare halftime lead and were able to run the ball more in the second half. That won’t be the case this week against the Los Angeles Rams.
The tight end totaled 10 targets (six catches) in the three weeks prior to Maye taking over. He then had 28 targets (23 catches) in the next four games before last week’s dud.
The Rams have been victimized time and time again by tight ends this season. Sam LaPorta, Trey McBride, Eric Saubert, Tucker Kraft, Brock Bowers, and Jonnu Smith all had at least 41 receiving yards against them. That’s Over 36.5 receiving yards in six of nine games this season.
Rams vs Patriots same-game parlay
Running back Rhamondre Stevenson has scored the bulk of New England’s touchdowns this year with six on the ground and another through the air for seven of his team’s 16 offensive scores. If the Patriots are going to score, it’s likely going to be Stevenson.
I’m taking the Rams moenyline here as a bit of a contrarian leg to close it out. They’re the better team at this point and should bounce back in New England.
