Betting Trend to Know

Against the Spread (ATS) Pick
The Cowboys didn't even look like a playoff team with a healthy Prescott, as their defense was one of the worst in the NFL. Now they have the offense to match, putting up just 7.3 points and 250.3 yards per game over their last three contests.
Rookie passer Ben DiNucci was awful last week and is expected to be replaced by Cooper Rush or Garrett Gilbert. But don't expect any better play from those two quarterbacks who have thrown a total of nine NFL passes in their career.
Whichever Cowboys QB earns the starting gig would be overmatched against any defense at this level, but taking on a Steelers stop-unit that leads the league in sacks and is second in defensive DVOA will be especially tough.
While it isn't easy to back a road favorite with a line this big, the Cowboys have been getting absolutely curb-stomped recently. Dallas is coming off a 14-point loss to a bad Eagles squad, lost by 22 points to 2-5 Washington the previous Sunday, and was clobbered 38-10 at home to the Cardinals in Week 6.
With the Cowboys 0-8 ATS this year and the Steelers 5-0 ATS in their last five games, take Pittsburgh to cover.
PREDICTION: Pittsburgh -14 (-110)
Over/Under Pick
This is a tough one to figure out because although the Steelers put up an impressive 30.1 points per game, they'll have a difficult time dragging this low total Over without much help from the Cowboys' pathetic offense.
The Cowboys have gone well Under the total in each of their last three games and should get absolutely shut down by Pittsburgh's ferocious defense.
Pittsburgh also plays at the second-slowest pace in the league, averaging 29.49 seconds per play, and that number goes up to 31.24 seconds per play when leading by seven or more points.
Once Pittsburgh gets up early in this game, look for the Steelers to slow things down, control possession, and end up with a victory that slides below this total of 41.5.
PREDICTION: Under 41.5 (-110)
Player Prop
While Dallas has to pick between two quarterbacks who have never started an NFL game, the Steelers have the luxury of Ben Roethlisberger and his 223 career starts under center. The Steelers fell apart without Roethlisberger last year and his return from elbow surgery has helped spark their resurgence.
That said, the Steelers winning game script this season hasn't led to many big games for the veteran QB. Roethlisberger has thrown for more than 240 yards just once in the last five games and is coming off a 182-yard performance against the Ravens.
In Pittsburgh's only win of the season that came by more than 10 points - a Week 6 rout of Cleveland - Big Ben had just 22 pass attempts for 162 yards. Expect the Steelers to lean on their running game in this contest and take the Under on Roethlisberger's passing yards.
PREDICTION: Ben Roethlisberger passing yards - Under 255.5 (-115)
Steelers vs Cowboys Betting Card
- Pittsburgh -14 (-110)
- Under 41.5 (-110)
- Ben Roethlisberger passing yards - Under 255.5 (-115)
