It will be a surprisingly intriguing matchup when the Washington Football teams visit the Pittsburgh Steelers in a game that has been moved to early Monday evening due to COVID-19.

Washington is just 4-7 on the year, but is 3-2 in its last five games and are getting good quarterback play from Alex Smith. While the Steelers are undefeated at 11-0, their perfect record is struggling to hide some cracks in the foundation.

We break down the NFL odds with our free Washington vs. Steelers picks and predictions for Monday, November 7, with kickoff at 5 p.m. ET.

Betting Trend to Know

As you might expect, this game is trending towards the Under. The Under is 7-1 in the Football Team's last eight games versus a team with a winning record, while the Under is 3-0-1 in the Steelers’ last four games overall.  Find more NFL betting trends for Washington vs. Steelers.

Against the Spread (ATS) Pick

The Pittsburgh Steelers are 11-0, currently hold the No. 1 seed in the AFC and have been one of the best bets in the NFL at 8-3 ATS. But is there reason to fade the Steel City in this matchup?

The Steelers have gotten to 11-0 thanks to an outstanding defense and an offense that makes you pay for mistakes. The stop unit ranks 3rd in total defense, first in scoring defense (allowing just 17.1 points per game), and leads the league in takeaways.

The takeaways have been key because while the offense is putting up 28.8 points per game, they rank just 22nd in total yards per game. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has shown some inconsistency and his 6.5 yards per attempt is better only than Daniel Jones, Carson Wentz, Nick Foles and Sam Darnold. That’s not good. The Steelers also haven’t gotten much out of the run game, as their 3.8 yards per attempt ranks 27th in the league.

Now, Big Ben will have to deal with one of the best pass defenses in the NFL. Washington ranks fifth in the NFL in defensive DVOA and is third against the pass. Chase Young leads a Washington front seven full of first-round picks and the team is tied for second in the league in sacks.

Washington has also been a little more spry on offense since Smith took over under center, averaging 380 yards per game, up from its season average of 325. A big reason for that is things up have opened up for running back Antonio Gibson, who has 274 yards (on five yards per carry) with seven scores and another 86 yards through the air in four games since Smith took over.

Pittsburgh is undefeated for a reason, but they have had some questionable performances, including Wednesday’s game against the Ravens. They have also just lost LB Bud Dupree for the season and could still be missing several players due to COVID-19 protocols. Let's take the points with the Football Team.

PREDICTION: Washington +7.5 (-110)

Over/Under Pick

As mentioned, the Under is trending in this matchup—and for good reason. This game features two of the best defenses in the NFL, who combine to allow just 39.2 points per game, as well as two inconsistent offenses. Both teams will have trouble moving the ball at times but both run the ball enough to keep the clock moving at a decent pace.

While this is a low number compared to today’s NFL standards, it’s still high enough for us to think the Under trend will continue.

PREDICTION: Under 43 (-110)

Scoring Prop Pick

If you’re looking to bet on a defensive or special teams touchdown to be scored this week, this game is a prime candidate. The Steelers lead the NFL in takeaways, while Washington is a respectable 10th when it comes to interceptions, and they rank first and third respectively in sacks.

So, there should be more than a few opportunities for turnovers to be returned.

PREDICTION: Defensive/Special Teams TD - Yes (+200)
