The NFL schedule takes some twists and turns in Week 15. We have three games on Saturday's NFL odds slate, which has those six teams playing on a shorter week than normal.

This quirky calendar adds to the usual spin of situational handicapping opportunities — AKA spot bets. I comb the Week 15 odds slate and highlight the best spot bet options with my look-ahead, letdown, and schedule spots to help you with making your NFL picks.

Letdown Spot: Chicago Bears at Cleveland Browns (-3)

The Chicago Bears avenged a Week 11 collapse to Detroit this past weekend. Chicago — which blew a 26-14 lead in that loss — didn’t let up on the Lions in a 28-13 victory Sunday.

That gave the Bears their second straight win and third in the past four games, but now they venture outside of the NFC and make the trip to Cleveland for Week 15.

The Cleveland Browns are a tough team on their turf, boasting a 6-1 straight up and against the spread record at home. Cleveland has held visitors to just 10.2 points per game and doesn’t play nice with rival QBs.

The Browns have plenty of experience bottling up dual-threat QBs like Justin Fields, having done a good job wrangling Lamar Jackson twice this season. Fields hasn’t played his best ball away from Chicago, owning a passer rating of 89.5 as a visitor, and faces a nasty pass rush that ranks third in pressure rate.

Look-Ahead Spot: San Francisco 49ers at Arizona Cardinals (+13.5)

What do my kids and the San Francisco 49ers have in common in Week 15?

Answer: They’re looking ahead to Christmas Day.

The Niners venture to the desert as near two-touchdown road chalk against the Arizona Cardinals this weekend. This game is already a breather after two divisional fights with Seattle and a trip to Philly in the past three weeks, but the 49ers could also be looking past the Cardinals to Week 16.

Waiting for San Francisco on December 25 are the Baltimore Ravens, who come to the Bay Area for a Monday Night Football battle on X-mas Day.

Given the big spread, Kyle Shanahan and his offense could take their foot off the gas and possibly sit some stars in the second half. With a pile of chalk this big, it does leave the backdoor open for Arizona. Beware.

Schedule Spot: Denver Broncos at Detroit Lions (-4)

The Denver Broncos are one of the hottest teams in the NFL but face a doozy of a schedule spot in Week 15.

Denver is not only playing its third straight road game when it rides in Motown but will also be playing that third road tilt on a short week with the game part of a Saturday three-pack.

The Broncos are 1-1 SU and ATS in the first two stops of this road swing, most recently roughing up the rival Chargers for a 24-7 win on Sunday. Saturday’s game will be their third away game in 14 days.

As for the Detroit Lions, this Week 15 homestand is the lone game in Ford Field in a five-game stretch that started in Week 13 and sends the Lions to Minnesota and Dallas in the following weeks.
