With Week 1 in the books and one successful parlay wager down, time to build off that success and target my favorite NFL parlay picks, sticking with the theme of proposition bets.

Parlay Pick 1
PARLAY: Touchdown scorer anytime Nick Chubb (-190) + Over 308.5 passing yards Tom Brady (-115) = +185
Touchdown scorer anytime Nick Chubb (-190)
Look for big bounce-back game from the Cleveland Browns in Week 2, at home and surrounded by an electric atmosphere in a packed FirstEnergy Stadium for the first time in a few years. With the Texans coming off a 4-12 season last year, a defense ranked last against the run, and a team that couldn't get it going in Week 1, expect Cleveland to control the game right from the beginning, particularly leaning on their rushing attack.
In 2020, Nick Chubb logged 1067 rushing yards through 12 regular-season games and found the endzone 12 times. He’s in a favorable matchup versus a Texans defense who gave up an average of 3.4 touchdowns a game (28th) and really struggled to stop the run. Expecting Chubb to find the endzone at least once looks like a great bet. Despite the chalky price, parlaying it with another option could help to make the most from a value perspective.
Over 308.5 passing yards Tom Brady (-115)
Sticking with the theme of defenses struggling, last season the Falcons gave up the most passing yards per game, averaging 293.5. They also surrendered the second-highest total passing touchdowns at 34, while allowing opponents to complete 68 percent of their passes. A struggling defense means trouble as the defending champs in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers roll into town, and ranked second in the league last year with 42 passing touchdowns.
In their prior two meetings last season, Tom Brady threw for 399 yards in the opening week of the regular season and 390 again against the Falcons only a few weeks later. Expect much of the same this time around, and even though the total is very high at 308.5, take the Over.
Parlay Pick 2
PARLAY: Teddy Bridgewater over 31.5 passing attempts (-115) + Aaron Jones over 68.5 rushing yards (-110) = +256
Teddy Bridgewater over 31.5 passing attempts (-115)
The Jaguars ranked 31st in the league last year in sacks per game, logging 18 total. They will be up against a Broncos offensive line that did a fair enough job in Week 1 protecting Teddy Bridgewater after entering the offseason with a bit of uncertainty.
Last year, the Jaguars defense gave up a very high 7.9 passing yards per attempt and were burned quite often by longer passes, giving up 52 passing attempts of 20 or more yards. Opponents found a lot of success exposing this team through the air. Although it is only one game counting towards sample size, in Week 1, Teddy Bridgewater completed 28-of-36 passes at 77.8 percent. Take the Over on his passing attempt total at 31.5. We can likely expect him to be less accurate this week, however, the attempt total should be somewhat similar entering Week 2.
Aaron Jones over 68.5 rushing yards (-110)
The Packers are a team that loves to control the clock, especially at home where they averaged 33:25 minutes per game, a number which had them leading the NFL at home in terms of time of possession time.
They also moved the ball with a lot of success, ranking seventh in first downs per game, averaging 23.4, and should be in total control versus a struggling Lions team. The Lions had trouble all year long stopping the run, giving up the fifth-most rushing yards per game at 134.9.
Look for the Packers to have no problem grinding it out and playing a slow, methodical game with a lead. I like targeting Aaron Jones for this rushing yard total based on projected volume of attempts alone, never mind his capabilities of breaking free for big yardage plays.
