Carolina Panthers fans have had to watch their team through their fingers as they've limped to a 1-5 start, and things aren't likely to improve against a Washington Commanders team that just played the Ravens tough in defeat after winning four in a row.
However, my NFL picks think there's a pair of Carolina player props that are appealing, and they'll kick off my three-leg Panthers vs. Commanders SGP pick for Week 7.
Don't forget to check out our Panthers vs. Commanders predictions ahead of gametime. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET at Northwest Stadium in Landover, with the game airing on CBS.
Panthers vs Commanders SGP for NFL Week 7
- Chuba Hubbard 70+ rushing yards
- Andy Dalton 2+ passing TDs
- Jayden Daniels 225+ passing yards
I'm not sure how much more oddsmakers need to see before they make another major adjustment, but Chuba Hubbard is on a roll for the Carolina Panthers.
Hubbard has cleared his rushing yards prop in five straight games, averaging 94.2 yards in the process. His average Over/Under line in that span was just 58.9 yards. The high-water mark came last week for Hubbard at 69.5 yards, where it sits in the Week 7 odds as well, and he went for 92 yards vs. the Falcons in defeat.
The Washington Commanders' rush defense ranks fourth-worst in the NFL at five yards allowed per carry, so Hubbard to get 70+ rushing yards feels like a solid first leg.
Next up, my Panthers vs. Commanders predictions will add Andy Dalton to tally two passing touchdowns at plus odds.
Dalton has thrown for two TDs in three of four games since relieving Bryce Young at QB. Him having to drop back more often than the Carolina coaching staff would probably like is contributing to that, as he's averaged nearly 36 throws per game this year.
As touchdown-plus underdogs for this game, it's easy to see the Panthers trying to play catch-up late vs. a Commanders defense allowing exactly two passing touchdowns per game. If Dalton doesn't cash this prop by the fourth quarter, he could have ample opportunity to do so in garbage time.
Finally, oddsmakers continue to raise the passing yards bar on NFL Rookie of the Year odds frontrunner Jayden Daniels. It started at 210.5 in Week 1, cratered to 194.5 in Week 3, and has now risen from 200.5 in Week 5 to 225.5 in Week 6 to an all-time high of 242.5 in Week 7.
While I can't heartily endorse that Over even against the Panthers' sorry stoppers (sixth-worst in yards allowed per attempt), I'm comfortable adding Daniels to get to the 225-yard plateau to round out this SGP. Daniels has thrown for at least that many yards in five straight games.
