Somehow, the Detroit Red Wings are still in the mix for the playoffs. They’ve gone 3-7-0 in their last 10 games, which has been a bad stretch, but the Bruins have actually been even worse. Boston is 2-7-1 in their last 10 games and has lost seven games in a row.
This is a must-win game for the Red Wings.

Bruins vs Red Wings prediction
My best bet: Red Wings to win in regulation (-120 at FanDuel)
My analysis
The Boston Bruins have had a horrible month of March, especially defensively as they’re giving up 3.85 goals against per game. It has been a tough year for Jeremy Swayman, who was one of the best goalies in the NHL last season. This month, he is 2-6-0 while skating to a .868 save percentage and a 3.86 goals against average, this season can’t end soon enough.
Despite the recent losses, the Detroit Red Wings have still gotten solid offensive production from their most dangerous forwards. Patrick Kane, Alex DeBrincat, Dylan Larkin, and Lucas Raymond have been leading the way, as the team has been averaging 3.25 goals per game since March 12th, and their power play has clicked at 33.3%.
Kane has skated to 11 points in his last eight games, while DeBrincat has nine in that same span. Larkin and Raymond have each put up six points in their last eight and these four forwards will be relied upon in tonight’s contest to help lead the Red Wings to victory.
Boston doesn’t have many threatening forwards and during their seven-game losing streak they’re only averaging 1.86 goals per game. David Pastrnak only has four points in those seven games and the team has been led by Morgan Geekie.
Nothing is going right for Boston.
Bruins vs Red Wings same-game parlay (SGP)
Red Wings to win in regulation
Alex DeBrincat to have 3+ shots on goal
Patrick Kane to have 1+ points
Over the course of their seven-game losing streak, the Boston Bruins have been allowing 30.7 shots on goal against per game, which is the fourth-highest in the NHL in that span. Alex DeBrincat will have a field day against them tonight as he has had a minimum of three shots on goal in three of his last five games. DeBrincat is a shoot-first player, and should get plenty of open looks tonight.
Patrick Kane has been on absolute fire lately and a lot of that has to do with the success of the Red Wings power play. Kane has five power-play points in his last eight games and the other six have come at even strength. In a game as important as this one, Kane always seems to be a player that steps up when his team needs it most.
