The series shifts to Rogers Place on Monday night as the Edmonton Oilers look to take their first lead over the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 3.
The stars led the way for the Oilers in Game 2 as Leon Draisaitl potted another pair of goals and Connor McDavid had a three-point night, while the Golden Knights had a big drop off after their Game 1 win.
Will McDavid and Draisaitl lead Edmonton to a second straight win or can Vegas bounce back to reclaim the series lead? We’ll discuss in our Golden Knights vs. Oilers NHL betting picks for Monday, May 8.

Golden Knights vs Oilers Game 3 predictions
After a four-goal performance in Game 1, Leon Draisaitl followed that up with another pair of goals in Game 2 while Connor McDavid added two tallies and an assist of his own to power the Edmonton Oilers to a dominating 5-1 win.
Laurent Brossoit had a rough night in the Vegas Golden Knights cage, allowing 27 goals on 32 shots for an .844 SV% — the second straight game he’s posted a SV% of .852 or worse. Brossoit is down to an .896 SV% through seven postseason appearances while giving up 4+ goals in four of those contests.
That’s bad news for the Golden Knights but good news for the Oilers, who had one of their best outings of the playoffs in Game 2.
Both Draisaitl and McDavid are firing on all cylinders — Draisaitl leads all skaters with 13 goals and 17 points in the postseason while collecting 10 goals over his current five-game scoring streak, as McDavid skates into tonight’s game with multiple points in six straight contests.
You can’t go wrong betting on either of the Oilers stars to have another big night, but I’m going to go with Edmonton’s captain in Game 3. After recording just one assist in his first two games of these playoffs, McDavid has posted five goals and 14 points through his last six outings.
With a shaky Brossoit in the Golden Knights net, I think we’ll see the Oilers run up the score while McDavid posts another multi-point night.
My best bet: Connor McDavid Over 1.5 points (-200)

Golden Knights vs Oilers Game 3 moneyline analysis
The Oilers opened as the -170 home favorite for Game 3 and saw their edge jump up as high as -188 at some books by Sunday night. Edmonton has flexed its star power early on in this series, which could give the hosts the edge again tonight.
While the Golden Knights dominated territorially in Game 1, the Oilers responded by controlling over 60% of the expected goal share in Game 2 while out-chancing Vegas 40-26.
The power play has also been a huge strength for Edmonton throughout these playoffs and we saw that again last game. The Oilers scored three of their five goals on the man advantage and have now converted on a whopping 56% of their power play opportunities this postseason.
If the Golden Knights aren’t disciplined, the Oilers could run away with this one by virtue of their power play alone.
Golden Knights vs Oilers Game 3 Over/Under analysis
The total opened at 6.5 goals for the second straight contest. The teams came up just short in Game 2 but I expect we’ll see another Over in Game 3.
The Over has cashed in four of Edmonton’s last five games and five of Vegas’ last seven contests. Meanwhile, the Over is 4-1-1 in the last six meetings between the two teams.
The Oilers and Golden Knights are the two highest-scoring clubs remaining in the playoffs, averaging 4.25 gpg and 3.71 gpg, respectively. Edmonton has scored 4+ goals in each of its last five contests while Vegas has scored 4+ in five of its last six.
Neither Brossoit nor Stuart Skinner has been stellar this postseason as both goaltenders hold a sub-.900 SV%. With plenty of offensive talent on either side, I think we’ll see at least seven goals in Game 3.
