The Vegas Golden Knights host the Los Angeles Kings in a Pacific Division tilt for Wednesday’s nightcap on TNT.
NHL odds have Vegas favored as it's coming off its first regulation loss of the season while Los Angeles is a +110 underdog amidst a three-game winning streak.
Will the home side bounce back, or can L.A. extend its winning streak to four? Find out in my free NHL picks for the Kings vs. Golden Knights on November 8.

Kings vs Golden Knights predictions
Netminder Cam Talbot is slated to take the crease for the Los Angeles Kings, and he should be a good regression candidate in this matchup. Through nine appearances between the pipes this season, Talbot is 6-2-1 with a .923 SV% and 2.14 GAA.
Talbot is a strong netminder and I expect him to put together an overall strong campaign behind a good two-way Kings lineup. However, I don’t think .923 is a sustainable save percentage for a 36-year-old who averaged a .912 SV% over the past eight years.
Among goaltenders that have started at least six games this year, Talbot ranks 20th in goals saved above expected per 60 minutes (GSAx/60) at 5-on-5. Furthermore, he's struggled against the Vegas Golden Knights throughout his career, posting a 7-7-3 record with a .899 SV% and 3.24 GAA in 18 games.
Talbot will have his hands full once again in a matchup against a team that ranks sixth in goals per game. With that said, I'm going to back one player on the Knights specifically to find the back of the net — Alex Pietrangelo.
Pietrangelo has put together a strong start to the year despite failing to find the back of the net, posting five assists and a +2 rating through eight games. He also hasn’t been afraid to shoot the puck, averaging three shots on goal over his past five games. Pietrangelo has produced 0.23 expected goals for per 60 minutes (xGF/60) at 5-on-5 compared to his zero actual goals scored, which is the largest differential of any defenseman on the team.
He should get some opportunities on special teams as he skates with the second power-play unit, which is beneficial against a Kings team that ranks around the 50th percentile in penalty minutes taken per game.
My best bet: Alex Pietrangelo anytime goalscorer (+650 at FanDuel)

Kings vs Golden Knights same-game parlay
A high-scoring game correlates well with Pietrangelo finding the back of the net, so you can parlay those two outcomes to receive a payout north of 10/1 if it hits.
I discussed above how Talbot is a regression candidate, but Vegas’ Adin Hill is an even bigger one. Through seven starts, he is 6-0-1 with a .938 SV% and 1.81 GAA.
Hill is very good and will likely put together a great year for the reigning Cup champions, but he owns a .912 SV% through his seven years in this league and .938 is just not a sustainable number. Yes, Ullmark did it last year, but that was a historic season behind a tremendous blue line (and he is better than Hill).
Over his past four games against Los Angeles, Hill is 1-2 with a .904 SV%. Finally, there have been seven or more total goals scored in seven of the past 10 meetings between these two clubs.

Kings vs Golden Knights moneyline and Over/Under analysis
The Knights opened as a –138 favorite and have since been bet down to -130. The market is respecting Los Angeles’ strong start to the season as well as its three-game win streak, and while I think the Kings are a very good team, I would still take Vegas tonight — especially in a bounce-back spot on home ice on national TV.
That brings us to the total, which opened at 6.5 and remains at that number. I don’t think this number will move in either direction before puck drop, considering that both goaltenders are good but due for regression while both offenses are capable of ensuring that happens.
Finally, the Over is 19-6-1 in the last 26 meetings between these two teams.
