Expert NHL moneyline picks: Nov. 8
Panthers vs Bruins pick:
Bruins
The Atlantic Division-leading Boston Bruins lead the NHL in 5-on-5 goals share this season (66.67%) after allowing just 22 even-strength goals in 17 games. The Florida Panthers, despite a 9-6-2 record, sport the third-worst expected goals for at 5-on-5 (29.75).
Boston enters this contest on a three-game winning streak after winning seven of their last 10.
Sabres vs Golden Knights pick:
Golden Knights
The Vegas Golden Knights are 6-3-0 on the road this season and sport the eighth-highest expected goals in the league (59.68). They're up against a Buffalo Sabres team allowing 3.25 goals per game and with a 48.97% expected goals share.
Buffalo, despite an 8-5-3 record, is just 4-4-0 at home.
Lightning vs Jets pick:
Lightning
Despite finally rattling off two straight wins, the Winnipeg Jets are still 2-7-1 in their last 10 games.
The Tampa Bay Lightning have won three straight games and four of five, and they haven't lost in regulation since Oct. 23.
The Bolts rank fourth in the NHL in expected goals share (56.85%), while the Jets rank 24th (47.18%).
Devils vs Maple Leafs pick:
Devils
The New Jersey Devils are quite possibly the league's hottest team, winning four straight games and eight of their last nine.
Connor Hellebuyck is undefeated (4-0-0) with his new team, and the Devils lead the NHL in expected goals share over the last 10 games (61%). They've also controlled the second-best rate of shot attempts during that span (56.47%).
Meanwhile, the Toronto Maple Leafs have lost four of their last five (including last night) and are just 4-5-1 at home this season.
Flyers vs Flames pick:
Flames
The Calgary Flames have won four consecutive meetings in this series, including both last season.
The Philadelphia Flyers have lost five of their last six games while posting an ugly 1-6-1 road record this season. Philly ranks in the bottom five in goals scored, shots on goal, power play, and shooting percentage.
While these are two of the league's worst offensive teams, the one stat that sticks out is Calgary's fourth-ranked power play (30%).
Penguins vs Ducks pick:
Ducks
Although the Pittsburgh Penguins secured a win in Los Angeles last night, they're still just 2-6-1 on the road this season and have dropped four of their last five games.
The Anaheim Ducks concluded their Western Canadian road trip on a four-game win streak and have scored five-plus goals in seven straight games. They sport the NHL's second-best power play (36.1%) and have tallied 22 goals with the man advantage in 17 contests.
Today's NHL moneyline combo
Few teams are as hot as the Devils right now. Meanwhile, the Flames are primed to take advantage of a weak offense and solid matchup, while the Ducks are scoring at an astonishing rate.
