The New York Rangers have turned the tables in this series, winning the last two games in order to force a Game 7. The Pittsburgh Penguins will have a new face in goal as Tristan Jarry will be making his first appearance in the NHL Playoffs.

Penguins vs Rangers Game 7 picks and predictions

Our side and total predictions are based upon our analysis of the line and total in this game. Our best bet is our favorite pick across all markets.

Moneyline/Puck line analysis

This series deserved a Game 7 and man is this going to be an absolute thriller.

The New York Rangers continue to show their resilience, coming back from a 2-0 deficit for the second game in a row. The momentum has completely shifted in their favor as they will be on home ice for a winner take all Game 7.

That being said, you can never count out the Pittsburgh Penguins. They were missing their captain and leading scorer in Game 6, but Sidney Crosby looks like he will be suiting up for tonight’s battle.

Tristan Jarry is being thrown into the fire as he is making his first start of this series. Jarry is coming off of a foot injury, so it will be interesting to see how he performs. Coming into this game, Jarry stands with a 2-5 record in the playoffs with a .894 SV% and 2.90 GAA — certainly not numbers to write home about.

Igor Shesterkin has been great on home ice in this series — including a 79-save performance in Game 1 — and there is no reason to believe that he won’t be stellar once again. It's also worth mentioning that the Rangers are 7-1 all time in Game 7s played at home.

In my mind, with this injured Penguins roster, I think this is the Rangers' game to lose. I’m going with the home team to advance to the next round.

Prediction: Rangers moneyline (-125 at DraftKings)

Over/Under analysis

Every game in this series has seen plenty of offense, but you can’t rely on any numbers when it comes to Game 7.

Igor Shesterkin has turned his game around and will be playing in his first Game 7. Overall, he has posted a .906 SV% and 3.52 GAA, but in Game 6 he stopped 31 of 34 shots for a .912 SV% and he has been much better on home ice.

Tristan Jarry had an outstanding regular season, but he has not lived up to the hype in his prior playoff experiences.

When it comes to games like this, it's just too hard to expect a ton of goals. At the end of the day, you have to take the Under in Game 7s. And if you need any more proof on why, just look at yesterday's slate of games that all played that way.

Prediction: Under 6 (+100 at DraftKings)

Best bet

New York was the team that was expected to win the series prior to it being played, and with all of the injuries that the Penguins have dealt with, I think the Rangers are the better team on paper.

This is their game to lose as they have won two straight and have taken all the momentum back in this series. Madison Square Garden will be electric tonight and the Rangers have performed there all season long, going 27-10-4 in the regular season and 2-1 in this series.

New York should be able to complete the comeback tonight and move on to Round 2.
