NHL Player Props and Best Bets Today for 11-13: Hurricane Winds

Jack Roslovic carries fantastic value with his shots on goal prop tonight, with a plus-money line to go Over 2.5. The Hurricanes shoot more often than anyone and he can benefit from the high-octane attack.

It's Wednesday and NHL player props bettors are treated to a very decent five-game slate full of potential betting angles.

Can the Toronto Maple Leafs stop a great Washington Capitals team and get the 5-on-5 scoring on track? What kind of response will the Pittsburgh Penguins have after possibly the worst loss of any team this year and the GM calling for trades? Can anyone slow down this Carolina Hurricanes offense that has scored at least four goals in nine straight games?

These are my three favorite NHL picks for Wednesday, November 13.

Today’s NHL prop picks and best bets

Prop bet #1: Sidney Crosby Over 3.5 shots on goal

+125 at bet365

The Pittsburgh Penguins gave up six goals to the Dallas Stars in the first frame of a 7-1 defeat on Monday. It might have been the worst loss by any team this year. The front office was none too pleased either as it was reported by Taylor Haase that GM Kyle Dubas has made it known to other teams that everyone is available, except for Sidney Crosby.

That puts a lot of pressure on the captain to lead the Pens' best effort of 2024 as I've been told there is nothing more embarrassing as a professional than being called out. The rebound game after a brutal loss is also a great betting angle.

I think everyone in the offense gets involved tonight and a matchup vs. the Detroit Red Wings is as good as it gets for shots on goal as Detroit has been outshot in eight of its last 10 games and by double digits four times. I'm also on Erik Karlsson Over 2.5 SOG at -125, but Crosby o3.5 SOG at plus money is the better value at that price.

Prop bet #2: Jack Roslovic Over 2.5 shots on goal

+150 at BetRivers

The Carolina Hurricanes offense cannot be stopped. It lost bodies in the offseason but looks even better this year.

The Hurricanes are 9-1 SU over their last 10 games and have scored at least four goals in nine straight. They also lead the league in shots per game at 34.1 and have a +9.7 shot-on-goal differential per. The Canes take on the Utah Hockey Club that have dropped eight of their last 10 games and are shuffling all their lines around tonight, so expect another dominating performance from Carolina.

That's leading me to top-line winger Jack Roslovic and his SOG Over. He only plays PP2, which is why his markets are still soft, but he is 6-1 to the Over on this prop over his last seven games and has had 2+ SOG in 11 of his last 12 so the floor is safe.

This is big plus money in a very favorable matchup for a skater who has nine goals in 14 games, ranks second on the team in SOG/60, and has a shooting rate higher than William Nylander. The winger is tied for 12th in the league in goals scored and his role is expanding.

I'd buy this to +115.

Prop bet #3: Connor McMichael Over 0.5 points

-120 at DraftKings

The Toronto Maple Leafs have zero 5-on-5 goals from their forwards over their last five games. They are coming off a bad shutout loss to the Sens last night at home and now have to face a team that has been off since Saturday.

The Washington Capitals have been a wagon at 5-on-5 by comparison. They have the No. 3 scoring offense but the 30th-ranked power play. Connor McMichael has 16 points in 14 games with 15 coming at even strength. His point prop has not adjusted much of late despite getting points in 10 of his last 12 games.

Toronto is still without its best defensive player in Auston Matthews so McMichael, a center, will have a much easier time facing a Leafs team lacking defensive depth down the middle.

This is my favorite skater right now as I have been cashing his Overs for weeks now as books are not ready to adjust his markets for some reason. I'm playing his Overs until they get to -135/-140, which should be soon. His Over 2.5 SOG at plus money is also a good look.
