Connor Hellebuyck comes in with the best chance of winning at +500, down from +400 after publicly requesting a trade this summer. Logan Thompson jumps from +640 to a narrow second-favorite at +550, while Ilya Sorokin (+800) leapfrogs Andrei Vasilevskiy to round out the Top 3.

9/14: Connor Hellebuyck sees his favorite status nearly crumble after a highly public trade request. Logan Thompson is the narrow No. 2, while Ilya Sorokin barely surpasses Andrei Vasilevskiy for the No.3 spot.
7/30: The top of the odds board is stacked as always, and Connor Hellebuyck opened as a sizeable favorite. Movement has come, however, with Logan Thompson breaking into the No. 2 spot ahead of Vasilevskiy.

Vezina Trophy prediction
Give me Jesper Wallstedt at +2500.
I'm wary of Hellebuyck due to his holdout and imminent trade out of Winnipeg, and the odds for the rest of the Top 3 are just too short for me to justify. Vasilevskiy has only been nominated twice in the last five seasons and posted a -5.2 GSAA as recently as 2023-24, and Thompson has yet to be nominated despite two fourth-place finishes.
Wallstedt's .916 save percentage and 82 GA% both ranked second in the NHL, and his 19.6 GSAA ranked fifth despite only playing in 35 games. Filip Gustavsson struggled for the Wild down the stretch, and I think this is the season that 23-year-old Wallstedt establishes himself as one of the league's elite.

Most sportsbooks will display odds in the American format as listed above. When the regular season is nearly finished and a consensus has emerged, you might see a player with a minus sign (-) ahead of his odds, like this:

The (-) means that Hellebuyck is the odds-on favorite, and a bettor would need to wager $135 to win $100. Other contenders in the Vezina race might have plus (+) odds to win.
- Ilya Sorokin +100
Here, a bettor stood to profit $100 for every $100 wagered.
