The Vezina Trophy odds are ever-shifting, as Connor Hellebuyck enjoyed his first win donning a New Jersey after his trade request was honoured and he was shipped to the Devils last week.
He's still fourth on the NHL odds leaderboard at +700, behind the likes of his compatriots in Jeremy Swayman and Jake Oettinger. Jesper Wallstedt (my pre-season pick at +2500) is the biggest riser and now third on the board.

Odds movement
10/29: Hellebuyck is already up to +700 after his Devils debut, while rookie Jacob Fowler (+2250) is a name to keep an eye on.
10/25: Hellebuyck finds himself at +900 after finally being traded, while Jesper Wallstedt soars from +1650 to +600 and third on the board. Jeremy Swayman is the new favorite.
10/15: Hellebuyck's fall from grace has begun, and Logan Thompson is the new favorite. Igor Shesterkin is off the board after suffering a season-ending injury.
9/28: Hellebuyck's odds shorten despite his playing status being very uncertain. Sorokin draws even in odds with Thompson, while Vasilevskiy remains idle.
9/14: Connor Hellebuyck sees his favorite status nearly crumble after a highly public trade request. Logan Thompson is the narrow No. 2, while Ilya Sorokin barely surpasses Andrei Vasilevskiy for the No.3 spot.
7/30: The top of the odds board is stacked as always, and Connor Hellebuyck opened as a sizeable favorite. Movement has come, however, with Logan Thompson breaking into the No. 2 spot ahead of Vasilevskiy.

Vezina Trophy prediction
Jesper Wallstedt
I'm wary of Hellebuyck due to the off-ice circus surrounding him this season, and the odds for the rest of the Top 3 are just too short for me to justify. Vasilevskiy has only been nominated twice in the last five seasons and posted a -5.2 GSAA as recently as 2023-24, and Thompson has yet to be nominated despite two fourth-place finishes.
Wallstedt's .916 save percentage and 82 GA% both ranked second in the NHL in 2025-26, and his 19.6 GSAA ranked fifth despite only playing in 35 games. Filip Gustavsson struggled for the Wild down the stretch, and I think this is the season that 23-year-old Wallstedt establishes himself as one of the league's elite.

Most sportsbooks will display odds in the American format as listed above. When the regular season is nearly finished and a consensus has emerged, you might see a player with a minus sign (-) ahead of his odds, like this:

The (-) means that Hellebuyck is the odds-on favorite, and a bettor would need to wager $135 to win $100. Other contenders in the Vezina race might have plus (+) odds to win.
- Ilya Sorokin +100
Here, a bettor stood to profit $100 for every $100 wagered.
