World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is taking a much-deserved break after back-to-back wins at the Masters and RBC Heritage to cap off a run of four wins in five starts.
For this week's Zurich Classic at TPC Lousiana, that spotlight will be placed on Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay — a well-established duo that won this team event back in 2022 and is a healthy +400 favorite this week.
We break down their chances, give free golf picks, and more in our full Zurich Classic betting preview below.

Zurich Classic picks and predictions
Matt Fitzpatrick & Alex Fitzpatrick Top 20 (+100)
The Fitzpatrick brothers finished T19 a year ago despite both struggling with their irons.
The form’s also there with Matt going 5-T10-T22-T28 since the Arnold Palmer and his brother finishing T23 or better in three of his last four worldwide starts.
They‘ll easily contend if those irons warm up but if not, they’re still very capable of hamming-and-egging their way to a decent finish as they did a season ago.
Pick: Matt Fitzpatrick & Alex Fitzpatrick Top 20 (+100 at bet365)
Nick Taylor & Adam Hadwin Top 20 (-110)
This is one of two Canadian duos near the top of the golf odds board but unlike Corey Conners and Taylor Pendrith, these two have some experience here as a unit.
The Taylor-Hadwin combo finished solo-second in 2023 thanks to a field-best 63 in the Sunday foursomes that made up for a slow start on Thursday.
They finished just T42 and T49 at Harbour Town last week but Taylor is only a few weeks removed from a nice run that included a win in Phoenix and Hadwin has a pair of Top 5s since the start of February.
With fewer and fewer returning teams, I like the fact this won't be their first go-around and that they spent much of last year's edition in contention.
Pick: Nick Taylor & Adam Hadwin Top 20 (-110 at bet365)
Zurich Classic field and favorites
A 2022 victory and a T4 a season ago mean the pairing of Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay are well-deserved +400 favorites atop the golf odds board.
With that said, Xander is in much better form with Top-10 finishes in seven of nine starts to start the year. That includes a runner-up finish at THE PLAYERS and an eighth-place finish at the Masters last time out. Cantlay is fresh off a T3 at Harbour Town but had been hit or miss in his prior starts.
The No. 2 spot on the board belongs to an Irish pairing of World No. 2 Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry (+800). It continues to be a fascinating time of year for Rory, who enters the week after a T33 at Hilton Head, his worst finish since Pebble Beach back in early February.
Lowry's also struggling — particularly on the greens — after finishing T43 at the Masters and T64 last week. He did, however, go on a T4-3-T19 run during the Florida Swing in March.
Will Zalatoris and Sahith Theegala are running third at 10/1 or better in some spots. Willy Z went T13-T2-T4 earlier this season to reinsert himself into the mix and is just two weeks removed from a T9 finish at Augusta National. Sahith enters off a runner-up finish at Harbour Town.
Defending champions Davis Riley and Nick Hardy are much further down the board at 55/1 after winning with 40/1 odds a season ago. They're both completely out of form with a plethora of missed cuts in 2024.
