How to bet on rugby league

The NRL is the top domestic professional rugby league competition in the world and features 15 teams from Australia and 1 from New Zealand. Rugby league betting offers many of the same betting options as sports such as football, including side bets, pointspreads, totals, derivatives, prop bets and futures (also called outrights).

The most popular NRL futures odds bet is on which team will win the Grand Final, the championship awarded at the end of the NRL season. NRL futures odds to win the Grand Final will usually look like this:

  • Sydney Roosters +400

This means that on a $100 bet, you'll stand to profit $400 if the Roosters win the NRL championship. If it's close to the end of the regular season or during the playoffs and there is a very dominant team, you might see a minus sign (-) ahead of their odds.

  • Melbourne Storm -120

This means that you would need to bet $120 to win $100 on a Grand Final victory for the Storm.

Above we have posted the American odds for NRL betting. However, these are easy to convert to decimal odds or fractional odds with our odds converter tool.
