The FA Cup quarterfinal tie between Brighton and Nottingham Forest screams excitement to all soccer fans.

Heading into this clash, both teams look to be in fine form. A highly spectacular game is expected at American Express Stadium. Here are my Brighton vs. Nottingham Forest predictions and free betting picks for Saturday, March 29.

Brighton vs Nottingham Forest picks and predictions

My best bet: Over 2.5 (-136 at TonyBet)

My analysis
Brighton are undefeated in their last five home matches against Forest in all competitions, but their last away Premier League encounter is surely one to forget.

Fact: Brighton are coming to the table with a fantastic run over the past two months. Also a fact: they have a big point to prove against Forest. That's because Brighton's last negative result came on February 1, and it hurt badly. Forest came out 7-0 winners in the Premier League.

So, Brighton are in form and thirsty for revenge. They won six games (one after extra-time, also in the FA Cup, 2-1 against Newcastle) and drew one in their last seven official outings since their disaster trip to Forest.

The Nottingham club hasn't been out of form, either. They won two of their last three games, including a 1-0 triumph over Man City and a 0-0 draw against Arsenal. Nottingham are the best story of the Premier League campaign so far, sitting third in the standings and with a huge chance of playing Champions League football next season.

That's what Brighton are hunting as well. They're now seventh and promise to give those ahead of them a fair fight in the nine remaining rounds.

Ten of Brighton's last 15 games have ended with more than 2.5 goals. Note that each of Forest's last 10 away games had more than 1.5 goals in them. The Nottingham side had more than 1.5 goals next to its name in seven of its last 10 away games.

Stats point in the same direction as the game's storyline. I expect this match to be full of entertainment and goals, so snag the Over 2.5 at TonyBet.

Brighton vs Nottingham Forest same-game parlay (SGP)

Over 2.5

Under 11.5 corners

Over 4.5 bookings

All but one of the last 15 Brighton games ended with fewer than 11.5 corners. In the Premier League totals for corners, Brighton is 11th (143) while Forest is 15th (124). On average, Brighton is at 4.93 corners per match, while Forest stands at 4.29. Enough reason for me to believe the Under 11.5 corners in this FA Cup clash is worth adding to the parlay.

Peter Bankes, the ref chosen for this encounter, is also expected to be involved. The Brighton/Forest match will be his first after a month. Bankes has an average of 3.88 bookings per game in the Premier League and 4.5 in each Championship clash. In the 17 Premier League matches he officiated since the campaign started, he's shown 66 yellow cards and two reds.
