PHOENIX -- J.D. Martinez had two homers, Paul Goldschmidt hit his 31st and left-hander Patrick Corbin pitched seven scoreless innings for his fourth straight victory in the Arizona Diamondbacks' 11-0 win over the San Francisco Giants at Chase Field on Sunday.
Martinez hit a solo homer for a 2-0 lead in the sixth inning and had another bases-empty shot in a nine-run eighth. He has 13 homers in 34 games with Arizona after hitting 16 with Detroit before a July 18 trade.
Corbin (12-11) gave up five hits and struck out eight in his fifth straight quality start, leaving after a leadoff single by Jarrett Parker in the eighth inning. He walked one.
Corbin has given up one run in his last four starts covering 30 1/3 innings, and that was a homer by New York Mets rookie shortstop Amed Rosario on Tuesday. His ERA dropped to 3.91, the lowest it has been since May 12.
Goldschmidt had a three-run homer, Chris Herrmann had a two-run single and Daniel Descalso homered in the eighth as the Diamondbacks (73-58) posted their eighth shutout.
Arizona has won seven of eight and is 1 1/2 games ahead of Colorado (71-59) in the NL wild card race.
Kelby Tomlinson had two hits for the Giants (52-80), who have lost six of eight.
The Giants got only one runner as far as third base, after Parker singled to knock out Corbin to open the eighth inning. Joe Panik drew a walk off Andrew Chafin and Brandon Crawford grounded into a double play before David Hernandez got a fly out to end the inning and keep the score 2-0.
Giants rookie right-hander Chris Stratton gave up four hits and two runs in six innings, his third consecutive quality start. He struck out a career-high 10 and walked three.
The Diamondbacks scored without a hit in the third inning for a 1-0 lead, ending Stratton's 14-inning scoreless streak.
Herrmann walked with one out and went second on Corbin's sacrifice bunt. Herrmann took third on a groundout and scored on a wild pitch when Rey Fuentes struck out but reached first base.
Corbin gave up three hits and a walk in the first six innings but faced only two batters over the minimum after inducing double play grounders in the first and fourth frames.
Stratton walked three in the first three innings but did not give up a hit until Goldschmidt singled to open the fourth inning.
Matt Cain gave up eight runs and five hits, including homers by Martinez and Goldschmidt, while getting two outs in the eighth.
NOTES: Arizona LF David Peralta was ejected by home plate umpire Ron Kulpa after slamming his bat to the ground near the batter's box following a strikeout in the fifth inning. ... San Francisco RHP Johnny Cueto (flexor tendon) is expected to return to the Giants' rotation the next time through, manager Bruce Bochy said, provided there were no issues after his rehab start Sunday at Class A San Jose. Cueto gave up nine hits and eight runs (five earned) while striking out four in 3 2/3 innings. ... Arizona closer RHP Fernando Rodney set a franchise record by saving five games in six days, the last one coming Saturday. He did not pitch Sunday. ... Arizona SS Ketel Marte (hamstring) received a day off Sunday after being removed in the sixth inning Saturday.
