Garrett Hampson drove in two runs and scored another as the visiting Miami Marlins completed a sweep of their doubleheader with a 3-2 victory over the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday.
Hampson ripped an RBI double in the fourth inning, added a run-scoring single in the sixth and came around to score on Garrett Cooper's sacrifice fly.
Bryan De La Cruz had three doubles and Luis Arraez also had three hits for the Marlins, who followed up their 6-1 win in the opener with their eighth victory in their last 10 games.
Braxton Garrett (1-0) picked up the win after allowing just one run on five hits in 5 2/3 innings.
Oscar Gonzalez and Steven Kwan each had an RBI single for the Guardians, who have lost five of their last six games.
Jon Berti doubled to center field off Zach Plesac (1-1) to lead off the sixth inning before advancing to third on Nick Fortes' bunt single. Berti came home on Hampson's single to give Miami a 2-1 lead, with the hit forcing Plesac from the game.
James Karinchak induced a fielder's choice to get an out at home before Cooper's sacrifice fly plated Hampson.
Kwan trimmed the Marlins' lead to 3-2 in the seventh inning with an RBI single to left field off Tanner Scott. Dylan Floro relieved Scott and induced inning-ending double plays in the seventh and eighth.
A.J. Puk pitched a scoreless ninth for his fourth save of the season.
Plesac was saddled with the loss after permitting three runs on 10 hits in five-plus innings.
Cleveland got off to a fast start. Myles Straw reached on a fielder's choice, advanced to second on an infield single and came around to score on Gonzalez's single to left field off Garrett.
Miami forged a 1-1 tie in the fourth inning after Fortes worked a four-pitch walk from Plesac and scored on Hampson's double to left-center field.
Marlins outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. was ejected in the fifth inning and manager Skip Schumaker received the same fate after he came out to argue with home plate umpire Dan Merzel.
