Rafael Devers had four hits, including a key triple, as the Boston Red Sox beat the host Baltimore Orioles 8-3 on Tuesday night.
Wilyer Abreu and Rob Refsnyder homered for the Red Sox, who evened the three-game series at a game apiece.
Boston's pitching didn't allow a run over the final eight innings after the Orioles scored 11 runs a day earlier. Baltimore's season-best five-game winning streak ended.
Trailing 4-3, the Orioles loaded the bases with no outs in the sixth inning. Boston reliever Brennan Bernardino doused the threat with two strikeouts sandwiched around a fielder's choice grounder.
Devers led off the eighth with a triple and scored on Connor Wong's single for a 5-3 lead.
In the ninth, pinch hitter Romy Gonzalez's sacrifice fly stretched the lead before Refsnyder hit his two-run shot to left-center. It was the second long ball of the season for Refsnyder, who doubled and scored earlier in the night.
Brayan Bello (6-2) struck out seven during his five-plus innings for Boston. He was charged with three runs on five hits.
Orioles starter Grayson Rodriguez (5-2) went six innings, giving up four runs. He struck out 10 with one walk.
The teams combined for seven runs in the first 1 1/2 innings. The scoring began with Abreu's sixth homer of the season before Devers singled in Refsnyder.
The Orioles went up 3-2 in the bottom of the first. Gunnar Henderson hit a leadoff double on Bello's second pitch, Adley Rutschman walked and Colton Cowser plated Henderson on a one-out infield single. After Bello loaded the bases by hitting Anthony Santander, Westburg sent a two-run single down the right field line.
The Red Sox went back ahead, in the second. Jarren Duran hit an RBI double and Duran scored on Devers' infield hit.
