TV: 9:40 p.m. ET, Prime Ticket, Fox Sports Arizona

PITCHING MATCHUP: Dodgers LH Ted Lilly (11-14, 4.12 ERA) at Diamondbacks LH Joe Saunders (12-12, 3.58 ERA)

Lilly, who tossed 6 1/3 scoreless innings Friday in a win over the Padres, has reached double-digit wins in nine consecutive seasons. He is 1-3 with a 5.09 ERA in four starts against the Diamondbacks this season, and the Dodgers are 1-6 in Lilly’s last seven Wednesday starts.

Saunders allowed one run in seven innings against the Giants last Friday. He has allowed 19 first-inning runs in 32 starts, and he’s 3-5 with a 3.55 ERA in 10 career starts against the Dodgers. The Diamondbacks are 4-0 in Saunders’ last four starts.

ABOUT THE DODGERS (81-79): Clayton Kershaw officially won the pitchers’ Triple Crown award on Monday without throwing a single pitch. Cliff Lee allowed two runs in six innings and struck out six in his start Monday, giving Kershaw the rare Triple Crown. Kershaw finished with a 2.28 ERA, ahead of Roy Halladay (2.35) and Lee (2.40). Kershaw's 248 strikeouts were followed by Cliff Lee’s 238. Kershaw and Ian Kennedy finished tied for the wins lead with 21 apiece. Matt Kemp won’t win the hitting Triple Crown, but he could become the first Dodger to lead the league in homers and RBI since 1941 National League MVP Dolph Camilli. Kemp is tied with Prince Fielder for the lead in home runs with 38, and he leads the league with 124 RBIs.

ABOUT THE DIAMONDBACKS (94-67): Justin Upton is having a rough few days. He was hit on the bill of his helmet by Tim Lincecum on Sunday, and he left Tuesday’s game in the 10th inning after a ball hit by A.J. Ellis caromed off the right field fence and hit Upton in the head. Manager Kirk Gibson said after the game that he expects Upton to be fine, and he could be in the lineup Wednesday. Catcher Miguel Montero played in his 140th game of the season on Tuesday. His 131 starts at catcher are the most in the majors, but he shows no signs of slowing down. He’s batting .282 and hit his career-high 18th home run last Wednesday. He’s also hit safely in seven of his last nine games. Rookie pitcher Jarrod Parker gave up four hits over 5 2/3 scoreless innings in his major league debut on Tuesday, and he also lined a double down the right-field line in the sixth inning.

FINAL PITCH: With Justin Verlander winning the American League pitching Triple Crown and Kershaw winning it in the National League, this season will mark the first time since 1924 that there have been dual pitching Triple Crowns.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
