Ryan Johnson o2.5 Earned Runs Allowed (-118)
Texas draws an excellent matchup against Los Angeles Angels right-hander Ryan Johnson, who has struggled significantly over his last five starts. Johnson enters tonight with a 7.25 ERA, 6.34 xERA and 1.66 WHIP while allowing opposing hitters to generate a 14.5% barrel rate. The Rangers also bring the highest-rated offense on today’s slate, featuring six elite-rated hitters and another with a strong rating, according to Batters-Box. Since 2024, Texas has scored 4+ runs in 56.1% of its 198 games with a rating of at least 0.445. With the data pointing toward runs, this is playable down to -125.
Brandon Nimmo o0.5 Total Home Runs (+350)
Nobody has a better home run matchup than the Texas Rangers tonight against the Halos, and Brandon Nimmo is a HR bet for me at anything +300 or better. Ryan Johnson is the worst starter on one of baseball's worst rotations, which has shipped off starters while also dealing with injuries. He's allowed a homer in seven straight games and continues to struggle with command, with 25 walks against 38 strikeouts in 50 innings. He's also allowed 13 long balls, resulting in a 2.17 HR/9, while posting just a 34% ground-ball rate. Nimmo has three dingers over the last two weeks and leads the team in that category, as well as wRC+ and xwOBA. He also gets the platoon advantage as a left-handed hitter against the righty Johnson. There aren't a ton of great prices on the Rangers, but I'm taking Nimmo's hot bat at this price over the handful of batters priced shorter than three dollars.

Jake Bauers is the safer pick, as I want a left-handed bat who can hook one around the foul pole with the wind blowing from left to right, but Turang is the better value at a much better price tag.

Mitch Bratt o4.5 Strikeouts Thrown (+128)
The Canadian rookie is coming off a seven-inning shutout, one-hit performance where he punched out nine Padres over 92 pitches. He has the leash, is motivated while fighting for a rotation spot, and projects as one of the best K Overs today in a cupcake matchup at home against the Rockies. Colorado owns a 25% K rate against southpaws, which is one of the worst marks in baseball. I could see this price falling off a cliff, as the projection is 5.08 Ks over 85 pitches, and that might be conservative. There is also ladder potential here, with 7+ Ks paying +560 at FanDuel, +550 at bet365, and +582 at DraftKings. Bratt can be a K-per-inning pitcher in the big leagues but needs to work on his command. Luckily for him, he's on his home mound and faces one of the lowest walk-rate offenses in baseball. He owns a 26% CSW rate over his last three games, which is an above-average rate.

Junior Caminero o1.5 Total Bases (-127)
Junior Caminero is back in the spotlight as one of my favorite looks at the dish today in Sacramento. The Rays slugger enters with an elite Batters-Box rating and covers over 60% of Mason Barnett’s pitch mix. Caminero has surpassed this prop in 60% of his last 25 elite road ratings. Barnett has also struggled against right-handed hitters, allowing plenty of hard contact and elevation. Meanwhile, Caminero has been absolutely mashing over his last 10 games, posting a .632 SLG, .395 ISO, 57% hard-hit rate and 21.4% barrel rate. I’m comfortable playing this down to -130.

Rafael Devers o0.5 Total Home Runs (+596)
Rafael Devers stands out as an intriguing value play at nearly six-to-one. Devers enters with the highest rating in this matchup over at Batters-Box while covering over 75% of Hunter Brown's pitches. Over his last 10 games, he is generating a 61.5% hard-hit rate and 25% HR/FB rate. Brown has also allowed plenty of quality contact to left-handed hitters, with the last 30 lefties he has faced barreling the ball at a 17.6% clip while owning a .539 xSLG. At +550 or better, Devers is worth a look.

Hunter Brown has been outstanding, posting a 2.41 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and an under 9% barrel rate allowed to opposing hitters. With the Giants' lineup struggling, I expect Brown to keep them in check. On the other side, Carson Whisenhunt has struggled and allowed plenty of hard contact, but I am not convinced the Astros can take advantage of those issues. Houston has been pretty lifeless across its last 60 plate appearances against left-handed pitching, making it difficult to trust the Astros to push this game over the total. With both sides offering reasons to expect limited offense, I like the under, especially at plus money.

LA has a strong runline path against Michael Wacha, who owns a 4.31 xERA over his last four starts with a 40% hard-hit rate. The Dodgers have been steadier at home, and Blake Snell’s pitch-count risk is softened by a bullpen in respectable form behind him at Chavez Ravine tonight.

The Over 8.5 has a path through both pitching staffs. Wacha enters in poor form, while Snell’s pitch count should expose LA’s bullpen earlier than usual. The Dodgers pen owns a 4.64 FIP lately, and Kansas City’s relief corps sits at 5.21 with 1.44 HR/9 allowed over the last week.

The Braves have dropped five of six while averaging just 2.8 runs per game and ranking 29th in wOBA without Ronald Acuna Jr. (hamstring), and it’s been a smoke-and-mirrors start for veteran lefty Martin Perez, and there’s serious statistical correction ahead of his .230 BABIP and 80.2% strand rate considering they’re both high-end marks about pitchers with at least 60 innings this season. San Francisco is just the offense to kick-start the regression, too. The Giants are pacing the majors in wOBA and fourth in xwOBA over the past 30 days, after all.

This is the most common and easiest wager for a bettor to make when it comes to MLB picks. Basically, to win an MLB moneyline pick, you just have to choose which team will win the game.
It's simple: if you bet the White Sox moneyline over the Red Sox and Chicago wins, you win your bet.
The run line is another name for a point spread that you may be more familiar with in NBA and NFL betting. A point spread varies in the NFL and NBA from as little as 0.5 points up to double-digit spreads. A baseball run line is almost always a 1.5-point spread.
The favorite will be -1.5 while the underdog will be +1.5. At the end of the game, if you take away 1.5 runs from the favorite or add 1.5 runs to the underdog and they end up winning the game, you win your MLB pick against the spread.
Another common wager is to bet on the total in baseball, which is a bet on the total runs scored in the baseball game. You are simply choosing whether the final score will be Over or Under that total. Betting the Over/Under on a matchup is a great way to get started in MLB score predictions.
A new and emerging MLB betting market is the NRFI/YRFI bet. These are quick-hitters in which you make a wager on the O/U total of the first inning, typically set at 0.5 runs. Thus, the bet is coined as No Run First Inning or Yes Run First Inning. No need to wait a couple of hours to cash a bet when it could be done in 20 minutes or less.
The above options, moneyline, run line, and Over/Under, can also be placed on the first five innings of a game rather than the full game. Many experienced bettors will use this approach because, typically, this will take bullpens out of the equation and make your job researching the game easier. After all, you can just focus on the starting pitchers.
If you want to combine multiple games into one mega wager, you may consider making a parlay bet. A parlay is when you pick two or more MLB games on one single betting ticket, which will increase the payout of your bet.

Player props are a great way to hone in on an individual matchup for a game. These types of wagers will be individualized for a player: Will Shohei Ohtani hit a home run? Will Gerrit Cole get seven strikeouts? Will Paul Skenes allow two earned runs?
