When you think of college basketball betting it’s tough not to think of Las Vegas sportsbooks exploding with action during the opening week of March Madness. Las Vegas NCAA basketball odds are some of the first spreads and totals on the board for college hoops.

College basketball point spreads are the most common way to wager on NCAA basketball. Oddsmakers set a handicap between the two teams, determining what the projected final difference – or point spread – will be on the scoreboard. Then bettors can either lay the favorite (indicated by the – ) to win by more than the spread or take the underdog (indicated by the +) to lose by less than the spread or win outright.

College basketball moneyline

College basketball moneyline odds are the easiest way to wager on NCAA hoops: You just need to pick the winner. Based on a team’s chances of winning outright, oddsmakers will set a pair of moneyline prices for a game. These odds are displayed in hundreds with the favorite indicated by a negative (-) in front of its odds and the underdog with a positive (+).

College basketball opening lines

NCAA basketball betting sees some of the largest line moves on the board each day, which is why we display the college basketball opening lines. You can compare the opening spreads and totals to the current odds, indicating which games are drawing the most money and where.

College basketball 2nd half lines

College basketball 2nd half lines are released following the end of the first half of a game and are available for betting during the halftime break before the start of the second half. These second-half spreads and totals are created using the original college basketball lines as well as factoring in the results from the first half. College basketball second-half lines are graded solely on the second-half results.

College basketball futures

College basketball futures are long-running odds that play out over the course of the season, such as odds to win conference titles or odds to win the NCAA Tournament during March Madness. Futures are posted before the start of the season and a team’s odds change over the course of the schedule, based on results, injuries, or betting action.

Top Sportsbooks

The most common way to bet on college basketball is the point spread. This is an estimated margin of victory between the two teams, with the better team set as the favorite and the weaker team as the underdog. The favorite must win by more than the spread to win the bet while the underdog must lose by less than the spread or win outright to be graded a winning bet.

College basketball odds above default to American odds. With negative odds like -120, you need to bet $120 to win $100. With positive odds like +150, a $100 wager will profit $150. You can switch the odds format above by clicking on Odds Settings.

College basketball lines for the major conferences are released the night before a game. Smaller conference college basketball lines may come out overnight or the morning of a game.
