Last Meeting ( Jan 4, 2020 ) Indiana 59, Maryland 75

Indiana has won five straight games at home against ranked opponents and is coming off perhaps its most impressive victory of the season, none of which serves as a particularly good omen for a Maryland team that has struggled in true road games. The Hoosiers look to continue their push toward the top of the Big Ten standings at home Sunday when they attempt to avenge a loss to the 17th-ranked Terrapins earlier this month.

A 75-59 setback at Maryland on Jan. 4 sent Indiana to 1-2 in conference play but also served as a wakeup call for the Hoosiers, who have won four out of five since. Indiana played about as well as it has all season Thursday, committing a season-low eight turnovers and outrebounding No. 9 Michigan State 31-29 en route to a 67-63 victory to improve to 12-1 at home. Maryland, which is 11-0 at home and 3-0 in neutral-site games, rallied from a 14-point halftime deficit at Northwestern by erupting for 51 points after intermission in Tuesday's 77-66 win over the Wildcats to snag their first victory on the road in five true road contests. The Terrapins, who are tied with the Hoosiers and two other teams for third place in the conference entering the weekend, enjoyed a 25-9 edge in points off turnovers in their earlier game with Indiana and have won five of the last seven meetings overall.

TIME: 1 p.m. ET. TV: CBS

ABOUT MARYLAND (15-4, 5-3 Big Ten): Sophomore forward Jalen Smith (14.4 points, 9.5 rebounds), who posted his 10th double-double of the season Tuesday with a career-high 25 points and added 11 boards, is shooting 54.2 percent beyond the arc in conference play - the second-best mark in the Big Ten. Anthony Cowan Jr. (team-high averages of 15.4 points and 4.3 assists) chipped in 12 points and six assists against Northwestern to move into sole possession of 13th and fifth place, respectively, on the school's all-time scoring and assists lists. Sophomore Aaron Wiggins (10.8 points, 5.8 rebounds) has regained his scoring touch after a two-game slump earlier this month, averaging 14 points over his last three outings after tying a personal best with five 3-pointers and a career high with 17 points Tuesday.

ABOUT INDIANA (15-4, 5-3): Junior forward Joey Brunk (8.4 points, 6.6 rebounds) converted a key layup with just under a minute remaining and finished with a team-high 14 points on 7-of-12 shooting - his third straight game with at least 10 points after failing to reach double figures in his previous 10 outings. "It's not measurable what Joe has meant to us. His everyday approach is something, as a coach, you marvel at, the work ethic. … He has improved as much as any player I've been around from month-to-month," coach Archie Miller said. Freshman forward Trayce Jackson-Davis (team-high marks of 14.1 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.9 blocks) scored eight of his 12 points inside the paint, where Indiana enjoyed a 34-18 advantage over Michigan State.
