Miami gets set to wrap up its home nonconference slate on Saturday afternoon as Coppin State heads to South Florida for the third ever meeting with the Hurricanes. Miami has won three straight after pulling out a last-second victory over Temple on Tuesday in the Air Force Reserve Basketball Hall of Fame Invitational.

"Well, I told the team at halftime that to win the game, we were going to have to play great," Miami head coach Jim Larranaga told reporters afterward. "It was a great game. We had played a great first half, but Temple was playing great as well, so we needed a lot of guys to step up and make plays, and they did." Junior guard Chris Lykes nailed two free throws with 4.4 seconds left to clinch the win and the Hurricanes had five players score in double digits for the second consecutive game after going 36 straight contests without it happening once. DJ Vasiljevic scored 11 points in the victory to become the 40th Hurricane to reach 1,000 for his career and Lykes needs 28 more to not only become No. 41 but to become the 26th to hit the milestone in under four seasons. Coppin State is in the midst of an eight-game road swing, going 2-3 thus far after back-to-back losses to Davidson (88-52) and UMBC (86-77) in their last two contests.

TV: 2 p.m. ET, ACC Network.

ABOUT COPPIN STATE (4-8): Four starters are averaging in double figures, led by Kamar McKnight, who recorded a game-high 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting in the loss to UMBC. Dejuan Clayton moved into 20th place in school history with 1,056 career points after totaling 17 against UMBC while Koby Thomas comes off his second straight double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Eagles have been outrebounded by an average of 9.0 boards per game in its eight losses compared with just 2.5 in the team's four wins.

ABOUT MIAMI (7-3): Lykes (14.8 ppg) and Vasiljevic (14.5) top the Hurricanes in scoring, with Vasiljevic proving to be one of the conference's most accurate shooters as he leads the ACC in 3-point percentage (50.8) and ranks fourth in field goal percentage (54.1). Redshirt junior guard Kameron McGusty and redshirt junior center Rodney Miller Jr. enjoyed career-tying performances on the boards against Temple, with McGusty posting his second double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds and Miller totaling 11 points and nine rebounds. The Hurricanes have started the same lineup in every game this season, but Florida transfer Keith Stone, who is making his way back from a knee injury and has played the last three games, made his presence felt against Temple with 13 points.
