Last Meeting ( Mar 31, 2015 ) Miami-Florida 60, Temple 57

Coming off their first 100-point effort in six years, Temple hopes the momentum carries over into Tuesday's date with Miami in Brooklyn. The game is the third and final contest in the Air Force Reserve Basketball Hall of Fame Invitational.

Temple, which has won seven of its first nine games, is coming off a resounding 108-61 triumph against Saint Joseph's. "I’ll take the win, however you can get it," said first-year coach Aaron McKie. "We had it hitting on all cylinders tonight." The Hurricanes most recently topped Alabama A&M 88-74, as they played without coach Jim Larranaga (back spasms). Assistant coach Chris Caputo, who filled in for Larranaga, said after the game: "We've got to learn to (have) a little more emotional maturity as it relates to what we're trying to do, not necessarily the score of the game or who we're playing."

ABOUT MIAMI (6-3): Kameron McGusty had a game-high 21 points in the win over Alabama A&M, raising his average to 14.1 points - third on the squad behind Dejan Vasiljevic (14.9) and Chris Lykes (14.6). Vasiljevic has shot over 60 percent from the floor over the last five games and has committed only six turnovers in 294 minutes this season. Lykes scored 28 points in a quality road win against Illinois earlier this month and also has been protecting the ball with just two turnovers in 82 minutes over the last three contests.

ABOUT TEMPLE (7-2): Jake Forrester, a sophomore transfer from Indiana, had a career-high 17 points in the rout of Saint Joseph's, making 8-of-8 shots to post his third consecutive double-digit scoring effort. Quinton Rose, who has scored at least nine points in every game, finished the Hawks contest with 14 points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals. Rose (14.7 points) is the top scorer on the team with Nate Pierre-Louis (12.3 points, team-high 8.6 rebounds) having a solid campaign despite 3-of-22 shooting from beyond the arc.
