Boston College @ Clemson preview
Littlejohn Coliseum
Last Meeting ( Mar 8, 2018 ) Boston College 82, Clemson 90
As it fights for recognition from the NCAA Tournament selection committee, Clemson has picked an awful time for a three-game losing streak. The Tigers will try to end the skid Saturday afternoon when they host Boston College in an ACC matchup.
After winning four in a row to get to .500 in the challenging league, Clemson lost consecutive one-point games to Miami and No. 22 Louisville before dropping a 77-64 decision against No. 17 Florida State on Tuesday in one of its last chances to score a signature victory. "Obviously, we need to win a game again. We needed to win one today," Tigers coach Brad Brownell told reporters after the loss to the Seminoles. "I think we are a little weary. We gotta regroup. We need to win a bunch of games here to finish if we want to do what we want to do." The Eagles were bidding for a third straight win Wednesday at North Carolina State but fell 89-80 in overtime. They rallied from 14 points down in the second half before fading in the extra session to fall to 1-6 on the road in the ACC.

ABOUT BOSTON COLLEGE (13-12, 4-9 ACC): Junior guard Ky Bowman scored 16 points in 45 minutes at N.C. State and is averaging 12 - 7.3 below his season average - on 13-of-44 shooting over his last three games. Senior guard Jordan Chatman (13.7 points per game) was unable to play the second half and OT on Wednesday after aggravating a hyperextended finger, and the team endured its eighth straight game without freshman guard Wynston Tabbs (13.9), who continues to battle a knee issue. "He's making progress, but the season's dwindling down" coach Jim Christian told reporters of Tabbs.
ABOUT CLEMSON (15-11, 5-8): The Tigers thrived defensively at times this season but have been unable to keep pace on the other end of the floor lately, scoring 65 points or fewer in six straight games and averaging 60.5 over the last four. Leading scorer Marcquise Reed (18.7) continues to do his part and hit the 20-point mark for the 10th time this season in the loss to the Seminoles. Seniors Elijah Thomas and Shelton Mitchell totaled 25 points against Florida State and they average a combined 24.9.
