Connecticut has taken advantage of a soft schedule in recent weeks but will likely face a stiffer test Wednesday. The Huskies seek their fourth win in five games when they visit Temple in American Athletic Conference action.

In its last four games, UConn has defeated Tulane, Wichita State and East Carolina - three of the bottom four teams in the American. Temple is in the top half of the standings and should pose a bigger challenge even though it had lost three of four before topping last-place Tulane last time out. The Owls have a three-headed scoring attack led by Shizz Alston Jr. and Quinton Rose, who average more than 35 points between them. The Huskies own one of the American's top players as well, as senior guard Jalen Adams is averaging 17.7 points on nearly 50 percent shooting.

TV: 6 p.m. ET, CBS Sports Network

ABOUT UCONN (13-9, 4-5 American): The Huskies rolled over East Carolina 76-52 on Sunday even though Adams was benched for most of the second half after he walked away from coach Dan Hurley, and then the two engaged in a more animated exchange. "His game was over at that point, regardless of where the score went," Hurley told reporters. "We could have lost by 18, he was done." Adams was held scoreless on 0-of-6 shooting, but Josh Carlton picked up the slack with 20 points and 16 rebounds - both career highs.

ABOUT TEMPLE (16-6, 6-3): Alston, Rose and Nate Pierre-Louis combine to average nearly 50 points between them with Alston leading the team in scoring on the season (18.4) and in the most recent game (29 against Tulane). Rose is just 12-of-34 from the field over the last two games, but his 3-point shooting has been a bright spot of late. Pierre-Louis had 15 points and 11 rebounds against Tulane - his second double-double of the season - although he is 1-of-14 from 3-point land in the last five contests.

TIP-INS

1. Carlton has three career games with double-digit rebounds, including each of the last two contests.

2. The Huskies lost at Temple by 28 points last season, as Adams shot 2-of-10 from the field with five turnovers.

3. Rose is 12-of-25 from 3-point range in the last four games after opening the season 15-of-77 from long distance.

PREDICTION: Temple 69, UConn 64
