Argonauts 40, Lions 23: Chad Owens caught eight passes for 117 yards and one touchdown in his return from a leg injury to help Toronto win at BC for the first time since 2002.
Ricky Ray was 24-for-33 passing for 284 yards and also found LaVon Brazill for a touchdown, while Steve Slaton and Curtis Steele each rushed for a score. Swayze Waters kicked three field goals of at least 45 yards and Alex Suber recorded his first interception with the Argonauts (4-8), who snapped a four-game losing skid.
Kevin Glenn completed 21-of-35 passes for 291 yards while tossing touchdowns to Emmanuel Arceneaux and Bryan Burnham for BC (7-5), which fell to 3-4 at home. John Beck scored a rushing touchdown and Khreem Smith recorded three sacks to bring his season total to seven.
Ray threw a 30-yard toss to Brazill on the second play of the second quarter for the game’s first touchdown and capped the next Argonauts' drive with a 38-yard touchdown pass to Owens. Glenn answered with a 20-yard touchdown pass to Arceneaux with 6:33 remaining in the half, but Waters kicked a 45-yard field goal to put Toronto up 21-9 at halftime.
Slaton scored on a 29-yard rush 5:27 into the second half, giving the Argonauts some insurance. Glenn chipped away at the lead in the fourth quarter, finding Burnham for a 13-yard touchdown and engineering a 75-yard drive capped by Beck’s touchdown to bring the Lions within 10 points with 1:49 remaining. Steele’s 26-yard scoring rush, however, iced the contest for Toronto after a failed onside kick.
