Idaho State Bengals vs Utah Utes Match Player Stats On Sep 14, 2019

No. 11 Utah started fast, built a big lead and never looked back in a 31-0 rout of FCS member Idaho State Saturday in Salt Lake City.

Utes quarterback Tyler Huntley completed 15 of 19 passes for 282 yards and three touchdowns, including two long TD passes in the first half. He played three quarters before exiting.

Sophomore Bryan Thompson's only two catches of the afternoon were for touchdowns, one for 82 yards in the first quarter to give the Utes a 17-0 lead, and the second midway through the third quarter for 23 yards and a 31-0 lead.

Tight end Brant Kuithe caught Huntley's other touchdown, rumbling down the sideline before cutting back inside and into the end zone for a 60-yard score early in the second quarter.

Zack Moss had 10 carries for 106 yards and a touchdown for Utah (3-0), which will face Pac-12 rival Southern California next week in the Utes' conference opener.

Idaho State's Gunnar Amos was 7 for 17 for 52 yards and an interception. Ty Flanagan led the team in rushing with 13 carries for 46 yards.

The Bengals of the Big Sky Conference (1-1) totaled just 36 rushing yards, unable to find a consistent rhythm at any point in the game against Utah's defense, which came into the game leading the Pac-12 in rushing defense.

Utah outgained Idaho State 543-116. The Bengals fell to 0-15 all-time against Pac-12 opponents and 0-8 against Utah.

Utah's only missed opportunity came late in the second quarter. Back-to-back plays were reviewed for targeting against Idaho State but were not called. Two plays later, Huntley tried a quarterback keeper on fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line, but he couldn't hold onto the snap and was tackled for no gain.
