Oklahoma State's Chuba Hubbard rushed for 223 yards and touchdowns of 92 and 62 yards in the second half as the Cowboys ran past TCU 34-27 on Saturday afternoon in Big 12 Conference play at Stillwater, Okla.
With the score tied at 17-17 midway through the third quarter, Hubbard, FBS' leading rusher, ripped off his 92-yard touchdown run to turn the momentum back to the Cowboys and guarantee his seventh straight game with at least 100 yards on the ground.
Hubbard, whose yardage Saturday came on just 20 carries, pushed the Oklahoma State advantage to 31-14 with a 62-yard TD run with 9:48 to play in the fourth quarter.
TCU was not done, driving 75 yards in nine plays to Sewo Olonilua's 1-yard plunge that cut the lead to 31-24 with 7:11 remaining. But Matt Ammendola kicked a 43-yard field goal with 2:04 left to ice the game for the Cowboys.
Spencer Sanders passed for 158 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another 88 yards for Oklahoma State (6-3, 3-3 in Big 12), with most of his damage done in the first half.
Max Duggan countered by throwing for 258 yards and a TD and running 16 times for 86 yards but was also intercepted three times. Jalen Reagor caught seven passes for 128 yards for the Horned Frogs (4-4, 2-3 in Big 12 play).
Oklahoma State scored the game's first 10 points, with a 26-yard field goal by Ammendola on its opening drive followed by a 57-yard TD pass from Sanders to Dillon Stoner on the ensuing possession.
After TCU cut the lead to 10-3 via a 40-yard field goal by Jonathan Song, the Cowboys struck again when Sanders hit Stoner for a 22-yard score and a 17-3 advantage.
The rest of the half belonged to the Horned Frogs and Duggan. First, he ran 6 yards for a touchdown midway through the second quarter to cap an 81-yard, 12-play march, then he found Pro Wells for a 24-yard TD pass with 39 seconds left to cap a nine-play, 95-yard drive and knot the score at 17-17 at the break.
